Me, I love them. They look a little steampunk to me, and while I see the Renaissance Faire effect, I'm totally digging it. What does bother me a tad bit is it makes you look bottom-heavy (like gravity boots?) when you wear it with just jeans and a shirt --- you're so willowy, you look fragile compared to their sturdy ruggedness! BUT I love the effect when you add a rugged or 'weighty' topper --- my favourites are the trench (#5) and the jacket (#7), where they really seem to come together.</p> <p>But I completely see Una's point that the black would be sleeker and way easier to incorporate in more outfits. So... were you *looking* for less sleek, more rugged? It is long, so I'd style with heels when wearing out to visit my dad and such, but I am keeping it. The listing didn't even show the hood in the picture, but I think it might be real fur... </p> <p>The boots... well, hubs says they make me look fat and like I'm going to the Ren. Faire. But I kinda like them in the pictures... they are Ariat, and for you slim-calved ladies out there, I have them adjusted the widest they go and had to squeeeeeze my 14" calves inside. I'd say the boot circumference is about 13". </p> <p>I still have burgundy ones showing up in the mail on Friday, so I can also keep these around to compare. </p>
