I love Pendleton wool. I wonder if the lack of items on the website is because they're showing spring and summer things.

I wonder if they aren't trying to link the clothes to their bedding line.

I have a wonderful cropped jacket made out of a Pendleton blanket. It's fully reversible, like their blankets. Got it over a decade ago from an American Indian College Fund program. That jacket will outlive me and whoever inherits it. But I have never seen anything like it in their proper catalog.

I have liked where Pendleton's been headed in the last several years. They've kept things for their core consumer, but added things of high quality that appeal to a younger customer too--I have a plaid shirt style washable wool dress that I wear over skinny jeans that I think looks fab. (Photo is of a similar dress--mine is a red Stewart plaid). I've also liked their collaboration with Van's shoes and the Gap.

This cover doesn't seem too off-base given the catalogs I've received for years, just maybe a little younger/peppier? Typically classic non-trendy solid quality career and casual clothes. Rather Talbotsy (which is fine with me). Pretty colors, feminine blouses, sweaters, dare I use the loaded word "nice" . They seem to sell the woodsy shirts and wool blankets separately. The Christmas catalog features men's and women's traditional plaid and cozy wear, and blankets, pillows, etc.

Annagybe - I've always secretly wanted one of those long blanket coats!

They shut down their Portland Collection a couple of years ago. It was a more trendy collection, but still good quality. It was hard to find, but I loved my stuff from it. I thought it was popular as it sold out fast, but maybe they couldn't justify the whole extra staff etc.
I've now seen stuff similar in their catalogs, which makes me happy.
They still have their classics, but with other stuff mixed in.
I don't find this racy at all.
It's not like those osteoporosis drug ads with the "sexy" dancing x-ray skeleton.

ETA...looking at the website, I'm more upset that they've seen to have done away with their western heritage clothing. Though they still have it in the blankets and house stuff

Pendleton has a lot of items outside of their 'core competency' in recent catalogs. I wish I knew whether they were selling or not. Maybe it's a volume thing, or that they can get them produced for less than their well-known items?

Not how I think of Pendleton. Who the heck are they trying to market to? And why would I buy a wrap dress from Pendleton?

Yes, that's it.
I agree - tame but lame! It just makes no sense to me, in any good way, for a dress photo.

Is this the one you mean? Maybe I've been brainwashed by the advertising industry, but this seems pretty tame compared to some ads I've seen (e.g., Abercrombie & Fitch).

I guess it is old now, a January Pendleton catalog orphaned In a stack of junk mail. But I occasionally find things likable in Pendleton due to the grand fabrics.

I found the front cover photo off- putting even though I know "what sells".
The model is wearing a wrap dress, but is lying on her back on a hard floor, with pillowed head and arms flung above her head and dress hiked well above knee. The dress itself is later shown to knee- length or even just below.
There are lots of ways to do creative/ tasteful/ tasteless fashion photos, and I guess I'm more used to that in a fashion magazine than a catalog, but this just made Pendleton seem desperate. Though they could be crazy like a fox.
