I love them both, neither are dated at all, and if you're a tricky fit I would be loathe to part with them! The chunkier bottom of the Frye's works well with the detailing, to my eye......like Deb said, lets see them out to play :).

I like both sets of boots. I am not seeing dated with either of them. Love to see some outfits and by the sound of it, you will be able to work these back into rotation easily.

Let's see them in some outfits! I think the brown ones are keepers for sure, and the Fryes are a maybe. Though if you have other over the knee boots you like better, you might be able to sell these and recoup some of the money for something else.

BJ Captain morgan is exactly it!! I was thinking pirate.

I bought them because the top rolls up to an over the knee and I wanted that. then I bought another pair of black OTK boots that I preferred so I think I wore the Frye's maybe two or three times. I also have a pair of Sam Edelman black boots that I bought last year that are quite tall but below the knee and are soft and supple and oh so comfy.

I am going to take the brown Miz Mooz out early next week and wear them with red skinny jeans. I just need to figure out the top half of the outfit.

Those miz mooz are perfect for skinnies and leggings. The strap and buckle add more visual weight and interest.

The fryes to my eye have a captain morgan vibe. Why not try them with several potential outfits and see if you still like how they look.

Eta...i dont get rid of shoes, when i have i've really regretted it. So if i didnt like something, i would just wait until they came around again,

You and your boots

I don't think the Miz Mooz are dated at all - that's a classic style in my mind. Would look great with skinnies tucked in. Heck, I'd even wear them with the right kind of casual dress, but that's a personal thing .
I like the Frye's, but there is something about the heel that's throwing me off. The boot itself is gorgeous, but the heel gives it a cowboy boot vibe, which is not my favourite look - but again, just a personal "poison eye thing" . That said, they probably cost you a fortune, and I'd' wear them as much as possible - tuck skinnies or tights/leggings into them and add a big sweater.

I posted my thoughts on style direction and one of the conclusions I came to was that the skinny pants and knit pants would only be worn with boots to add some balancing weight at the bottom. I have had these brown moto style boots for a few years but only wore them a few times. they are very well made and nice leather but they are a touch loose and at the time I wore far more skirts and dresses so they languished.

I think they have the weight that I need for the skinny pants but wonder if they are "dated". I bought some thick socks to wear in them to snug them up a bit on the way to take the red booties to be dyed.

What do you think? Would these work with say a pair of red skinny pants?

I also have these Frye Sarah OTK boots. Same question? Wearable? The Sarah's are quite slim through the ankle which is good for me since my calves and ankle are a bit scrawny.
