I think that the heels or no-heels thing has to do somewhat with proportion. I am very short waisted, and if I wear a maxi skirt, I actually look better with flats--my bottom half is long enough and does not need extra length from heels! I also think that with a midi skirt, you just have to find out the best length for *you*. Some lengths can look awkward, while others are pleasing, depending on how it hits your calf. I have also found that wearing nude heels can help change proportions too--if you feel stumpy, sometimes nude heels can help. I think it might just take some experimentation.

I hope we can find a way to wear flats with longer dresses! I love longer dresses, and I can't wear heels.

As for capris, I think they will be around again this year. May be a bit harder to find, but out there.

It is looking like a look for spring, and fall 2014 is showing lots of long, like mid calf length skirts and dresses with flats. This looks like, to me, a comfy easy way of dressing. However, I am remembering when one was supposed to wear higher heels with the longer skirts..anyone remember something like "the longer the skirt the higher the heel should be? Why is the mid calf or slightly longer skirt OK with flats, and NOT a NON figure flattering look, and capris are? You know like making one look stumpy!

Since capris got such a bad rap are they going to be around this summer?

No matter what I am wearing mine, and if I can't buy them any more, I will cut off my long pants when the weather is hot.
