Thanks, all! The day got crazy, and now we're already here! I only brought the white cardigan and a black trench, but the cardigan may not be needed at all due to warm weather today and tomorrow.

I only have one purse (don't tell Angie!) - a mid-tone blue leather, pursey-looking one. So, that will be that. :)

The booties are doing well so far. I may stick with them until I find some more suitable sneakers.

I commented on your other thread too. Was just in NYC.

Shoes: those booties are absolutely perfect. You can wear with socks, right? That will save your feet. I might be tempted to wear those sight seeing and not the sneakers, but you know your feet best. Definitely want comfort for walking.

Cardigan: I'm with Suz on this one. I did wear a cardigan on Sunday; it was a thicker one, more like sweater coat than cardigan. So I like the idea and I did the very same thing myself. There is just something about this one that does read "cozy cottage." Also, you're in the city... if you use public transportation and all that... white may get dirty fast. Do you have a darker alternative? Or how about a blazer? I did not bring my charcoal boyfriend blazer, but wish I had.

Skirt: Can you pair this with tights? You may not need them, then again, weather could get chilly and you might want them. I went without on the first night, but it was warm and muggy. I needed them the other two days.

Pashmina: do you have one? Or scarf? It can make the difference if the weather is crisp.

What are you doing for a bag?

I love your white belt!!!

#3 is stellar!! You look fab!

I am less sure about the looks with the cardigan. Something seems off to my eye, but I don't know if it is proportions, colour values, relative fabric weights, style vibe, or what.

The cardigan reads "cozy cottage in the country" to me vs. "big city visit."

Do you have an alternative topper, maybe?

I'm coming back out of lurking to post the outfits I've planned for a long weekend in NYC. I'd appreciate any last-minute tips. I suppose I could always shop there, too!

1. Black lace top - Eddie Bauer
Cream knit cardigan - Eddie Bauer
Gret pencil skirt J.Crew (not crooked in
real life)
Sam Edelman Petty booties
Key/cameo pendant on burgandy ribbon (from a craft fair)
I'm planning on this for Mass on Sunday and maybe to tour a prospective grad school. Does this say CobaltBlue, PhD student to you?

2. Same top and topper as 1
Grey bootcuts from Gap
fossil pendant of unknown provenance
one bootie, one plaid Rocketdog sneaker (need new sneakers!!!)
This is my other option for the campus visit. Sneakers? Booties? I am an Oklahoma girl and have no idea what's right for Ivy League/NYC.

3. Snow leopard boy shirt - J. Crew
Grey bootcuts - Gap
white braided belt
Rocketdog plaid sneakers
Just for sightseeing!

To be continued in post #2...
