I lived in the city for most of my 20s, near it all my life until then, and have been back about once a year since, and I don't recall ever seeing so many sneakers.&nbsp;</p> <p>My packing capsule would be a disappointment - basically one pair of jeans, one loose leggings (ponte pants) and three tops, and then an entire other suitcase of wedding and dress up clothes (thankfully picked up at the airport by SIL before we went to the city) for the weekend in Long Island. We are just back from a one week whirlwind trip to NYC for our nephew/cousin's wedding. The first two days we stayed on the upper west side in an airbnb apartment and took full advantage of the city including a hike through Central Park, the Met, M&amp;M World (although candy wise I was happier with Hershey World, and brought back two bags of dark chocolate peanut butter cups) and a Broadway play - Matilda, which was absolutely wonderful and highly recommended. </p> <p>Anyway, my main style observation can be summed up in one word: sneakers. Everyone was wearing sneakers all over town, including the dressiest to the most casual, from the most conventional to the most edgy. The one variation I noticed is as we traveled further downtown on the D train on our way to DH's mother in Brooklyn the pure white sneaker trend (which I had noted on our young friends from Berlin last spring) became more common.</p> <p>In case you are wondering what I brought back apart from peanut butter cups, I have quite a haul of dark blue from Uniqlo/Lemaire as well a couple of other things. Need my photographer to get over jet lag before I can model though!</p> <p>I have hardly any pictures, although wedding pics will eventually emerge, but here we are in Central Park and a selfie of me and DS at the wedding (I changed my dress plan).
