Angie, thanks for chiming in. I am quite thrilled you think they are ok for casual.

And Sarah, that's pretty much how I envisage wearing them. However they are not shearling lined, just trimmed so they are not any warmer than a regular boot.

I went and tried them again and I have left them... for now.

I ended up buying a pair of lace up light ankle boots with a wooden heel. These would be great for work and casual and will go with pants/jeans & skirts. So I think they fill the hole I was wanting to fill (and they are returnable if I get them home and think 'no'.) I will take pics to show you tonight. I can afford both, so I may sleep on the shearling boots and see how I feel about them tomorrow.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts it has been so helpful.

And just to explain my indecision over these, shearling lined boots can look like slippers that a certain demographic wears (outdoors - similar I guess to the Ugg boot) in Australia. We refer to 'bogans" which might be similar to the term 'red neck' - I trust I am not offending anyone. It is used in good humour to describe someone who has no style and is pretty rough around the edges but not in a good way.

I would love to know what my Aussie YLF friends think of these:)

Thank you so much for your input everyone.

Suz and Shannon I agree they are not work wear and I did kind of want a blonde boot I could wear to work and casual, but I do only spend 3 days a week at work so I have to work out how important that is.

Rae our summers are generally to hot for boots so I am not a big boots and summer dress girl.

Rita you have nailed exactly how I am feeling about these boots. I did have a good look to see if I could somehow remove the shearling trim lol. But they are well made, good boots and it can't be done. And Vicki I hear you. I think its the multiple personality bit that appeals to me in a way.

They are on hold so I will go over at lunch time and try them on again and relace the back and take another photo. I can return them if I buy them so there is no pressure in that department. There was another pair similar but different that laced at the front (no shearling).. so I may try those also.

Hubby likes them but feels the back heel area looks like a workman's boot!! Funny but that was the least of my concerns.

I get where Rita is going with this, because they've got a sleek look from the front and then there's the rugged surprise in the back. They've got a bit of a multiple personality, but that could be what's interesting about them to you. I love the taupe color and the lines from the front and side.

I don't know, it is like they are schizophrenic. I love the sleek slim modern front, and I love the slightly rugged country look of the back. I just don't know if I love them together. I hate to be a pain but can you try to lace them more tightly in the back? I feel like I can't make a true determination until I see the shearling more neatly contained.

If you are okay with them being winter-only boots, I think they are cute! If you want to wear them with dresses in the summer, though, the shearling will prevent that for a number of reasons.

I echo Suz's thoughts on these Deborah - great for casual weekend wear but maybe not so much with your workwear. They do look incredibly comfortable though so if you think you will wear them, they are worth considering.

For weekend wear, I can see it...I think with contrasting black laces they would look a bit like the Frye Julias look (only the laces on the opposite side, of course...) And of course they'd be great for bookending with your hair. I like the cool taupe.

I don't think they fit your workwear style, though. So they'd be strictly a casual boot.

I also wonder how the trim would feel with jeans tucked in. It might not be a problem at all. I just wonder if it would get caught, start looking ratty if you got caught in the rain, etc.

I'm not a big fan of shearling, but if you have 4-5 months you can wear them, then I think they'd work. What would you wear it with so you can show off the back of the boot?

They are cute, but I had the same issue with shearling trim stuff this year. So many cute boots, so much furry trim! In the end I decided to steer clear of the fur trim because it has such a wintery, rugged vibe -- it makes me think of Lappland, or Eskimos, or the Alaska gold rush. I think I would end up feeling silly wearing it, even if the weather was appropriate.

Not much help, I know!

Velma, they are not shearling lined. I live in a part of Australia that has cold and long winters, So I can wear boots for 4 to 5 months of the year so that's not an issue:).

I have a similar-looking pair of Timberlands (with a front lace). Mine have a full shearling lining, with the edges peeking out like trim. I wear them only in the coldest part of the winter and always feel a bit silly--a bit snowbunny-ish. I have to dress to counteract the boots or they just feel over-the-top to me. But they are useful, because we do live in a cold place--and gosh, they are warm!

Even assuming that those are not actually fully lined with shearling, they look to me as if they'd be limited to the middle of winter--Nov.-Feb. Not very versatile.

My blonde boots that I wear ALL THE TIME are Frye campus with horse stitching . . .

I rather like them! I think you, of all people, can completely convincingly rock the trim. Many people would risk looking too cutesy --- not you! You're style is sufficiently high octane to make this look self-assured, individual, whimsical. And if you're worried they're adding bulk or something (your comment about tightening made me wonder), rest assured they aren't.

Hi Ladies,

I have been on a search for blond boots to no avail so far. I stumbled across these flat Correlli Boots today but have reservations about the shearling trim. I love the color, that the are suede, and the shape. I think the back laces can be tightened to create a neater finish.

Ideally these will be non office boots.

What say you? Yay or Nay?

They are on hold with a pair of cute winter red flats.
