I am a nut over PPL now. I started out making sure all my pants and jeans were PPL....then I started fussing over my "at home" pants. Then my gym pants. Now I am starting to reject PAJAMAS when the legs are too short.

I think it's important not to be too hard on yourself. Lately I've been finding it hard to get dressed some days, because I feel this pressure (purely self-inflicted, of course) to always come up with a combination I've never worn before that's more styling and fantastic than what I wore yesterday. Seriously, sometimes I have to remind myself that wearing a smart casual outfit with jeans is not a sign of failure. So remember, you're doing this because it's FUN.

You're doing great, girl! Its funny but even DH is much more into watching people-mostly for outrageous fashion crimes, but notices the good things too!

AG this is very similar to the feelings I have been having lately - see my in a rut thread LOL

The outside influence thing is the biggest that I'm trying to work on at the moment.

PRE-YLF I had no style whatsoever, so when I started here I was happy for all and any outside influences I could get, but now I'm really on the track to working out what is me vs outside influences.

I so totally agree with April that this journey can be a blessing and a curse!! But, any growth in life worth it has ups and downs, so I figure this is a significantly good thing!

Reading along, agreeing with all the replies, even feeling a teeny bit smug about understanding PPL, and then I see "boots are supposed to fit at the calf." What?! What do you mean, "fit"? As in, no space between calf and boot? Is that even possible? So much more to learn....

Yes, AG -- that awareness can be a blessing and a curse. I've said many times that for me, the biggest "ignorance was bliss" item has been boots. Who knew they were actually supposed to fit at the calf? And who knew it would be so blasted difficult to find any that do? Argh. It's all but ruined boots for me.

Yes, I find I am far more aware of fashion "crimes" than I ever used to be. I also find I am more selective with my choices. And it's getting a little easier to pinpoint something working on me or not before trying on. Still a process, and still have to return from time to time. But I am less eager to rip off tags right away when I get home. Now I take the time to actually try on the outfit I had in mind to see if the new item works before committing to keeping it.
