The general rule is 1-3 inches above the crotch point (<a href="http://youlookfab.com/2008/04/28/the-right-length-for-tops-worn-over-pants/">this is Angie's great blog post about it</a>), but of course our shapes are all a bit different and so your own sweet spot will vary. I tend to wear my tops on the shorter end of that scale because it flatters my own shape and proportions better. In this outfit I just see too much pant crotch height, if that makes sense :)</p> <p>EDIT: It might be worth taking a long top, one that goes to the crotch, and take photos of it starting there... then moving up a half inch or an inch at a time, just to see where your personal sweet spot is. I'll keep your suggestion about length in mind though.
