I may not be a complete fundamentalist on this topic, but it has been the dealbreaker on many a pair of trousers.&nbsp;</p> <p>I used to be completely hands-free about these things, until I acquired a few really good cross-body bags. I carry my keys and wallet on a carabiner, which I clip to the inside of my lightweight totes. It makes changing it all around much simpler.&nbsp;</p> <p>To be fair, I prefer not to overload my pockets, so they tend to accumulate lightweight disposables. Worn to work, as I was leaving right after. As to a pocket being a deal-breaker ? It depends on the garment . Even premium denim. My husband was amazed when I showed him that if I stick my hand in my pocket, it’s not even deep enough to fit the full length of my fingers. If I put even something small like my car key in those pockets, I fear it will slip out. </p> <p>And I’ve learned to avoid jackets with pockets set too far back, on the side seam, or at too vertical of an angle — just too awkward to use, and things are likely to slide out. </p>
