Shorts and spaghetti strap tanks and barely there shoes. In the West Indies, by contrast, while I was made, yes MADE, to wear thong sandals (haha!)... shorts only under specific conditions and no spaghetti straps. Of course things have changed, and my fam is ridiculously Edwardian (still wearing white jackets at dinner into the '90s) but it still seems more clothed to me, if that makes sense.</p> <p>Oh, but strictly speaking, I'm Northern Californian. I'm glad to be back in these. I don't usually like denim for flying (or anything, really), because it's so stiff, but these are soso comfy. The sweater (and white cardi in my under-the-seat bag) are soft and cozy. We are on a layover now. No more responsibilities for me--it's the airline's job to get us there now, and I am relaxed. </p>
