I have no plans to stop shopping. I am mindful and careful about what I buy and I will continue to be. I did not shop for a while so I am in need of things. I am getting a better idea of what I need by doing my wardrobe chores.

During our walk today, DH and I talked about our trip scheduled for May. It looks more and more like it won’t happen. We have pre-paid, but have some insurances. We are comfortable financially. All the cancellations are saving us bits of money here and there. DH suggested that we donate any money recovered from the trip to our local food bank. Sounds like a plan!

No plan to change shopping, though I may need to go online vs in store.

I haven't changed my clothes shopping process - am always 99% online shopping, and UPS can drop without signature - but I do agree my priorities are changing. If we are all working at home for the foreseeable future, I don't need as many formal work clothes. My jeans will be getting a workout though, so I'm glad I invested in them last month.

I was already in no-shop mode til May, but thousands in extra expenses (vet, car repairs, potential taxes, and medical) are confirming that choice :(
Was hoping to get a cycling capsule, since the weather is warming up, but the rest can wait. Truthfully, very little I've seen so far has appealed to me, so not a sacrifice in any way.

I had already planned for fewer items this year, so my shopping plans are the same, but with a slight rearrangement of my list. Most of the items on my list are pieces that I was also planning to use for 5+ years, so I figure I may as well continue with those plans.

I’m on Team not shopping at the moment, possibly until the pandemic is over. There is state of emergency in my country as of Friday, the office of the company I’m working in is closed and we’re all going to work from home in the next weeks, schools and universities are closed, all shops and retailers as well, restaurants can only offer take away service. The courier companies are still working but who knows until when. Even if I order something online I don’t know whether I’ll be able to receive it. I am waiting a couple of things ordered two weeks ago which I’m not sure that will reach me. Everything changes in a matter of days now and the peak is still to come...
Plus for working from home and going to the groceries (while it's still possible to do so) I don’t need more than what’s already in my closet - jeans, few nice sweatshirts, some presentable blouses and shirts, and a biker jacket. I was looking at some lightweight jacket/coat options for spring but with the current development of things I simply won’t need them. By the time the lock down is not needed anymore spring would be over (or almost over if we’re lucky for everything to end a bit sooner).
Like Shevia I’m grateful for my large wardrobe right now - have enough to cover weather, laundry needs (staying at home with two young children definitely shows on my clothes) and variety.

Please think of your postal workers too if you order online. They are face to face with many people throughout the day. It would be polite at this point to set a designated drop off spot so that you minimize contact for them.

I tend to shop early in the season and so have done most of my Winter2020 shop already. I want to keep supporting local businesses and retailers, so whilst I am not likely to buy much more, my shopping is not coming to a grinding halt. In fact, I am more likely to buy some stuff locally just to keep things chugging along. Only today, DH and DS went clothes shopping and bought their annual update of lounge wear and casual stuff. DS is getting very good on his skateboard and is getting into Vans sneakers.

At present, I don't feel like going shopping unless it becomes absolutely necessary. I have to think of my dear ones who are in the high-risk groups and who need my help. I want to do my best to protect them from getting the virus.

We will do some online shopping, though. For instance, my 89 years old dad could need a couple of new lightweight pjs for spring and summer, and he himself has picked some nice ones among the photos I have shown him. :-)

Happily, I purchased 2 of my favourite bras and 9 of my favourite undies last week, while the situation in the malls were still relatively normal. And the week before that, I received several pairs of hosiery as a gift from a friend who runs a hosiery agency. So my basics are well repleted. Besides, weeks ago, I refreshed my spring capsule by purchasing a shortsleeved midi dress, a midi skirt, three nice shortsleeved knit tops, a light shawl, and a bomber jacket. I am so glad that I bought early. And I don't NEED more now. By the way, a vacation and some special events in April and May will probably be cancelled ...

What I would very much LIKE to get, is a pair of long rubber boots and a midi trenchcoat. However, so far I haven't seen any (neither in b&m shops nor online) in colours and styles that I really love and would want to wear for years. The whole situation might become better in a couple of months. If not, I am able to get by with items I have in my closet.

I am not shopping much, because I don’t need much. I do want to support some of our smaller unique boutiques, which usually open in May. Their timeline may change, given the need for social distancing.
One local shop that opened a brick and mortar store in November has had wonderful success. The owner is now offering online sales and holding live stream events to show new items in stock.

I'm still shopping, because I have some HEWIs to find and also some worn-out stuff to replace.

I went to Nordstrom today to return some failed online purchases, and while I was there I decided to try on some jeans. I want to replace my low-rise white jeans. I ended up buying not just a pair of white jeans but also a pair of black ones. They were both Good American, which is quite spendy for me, but I'm tired of trying on literally scores of jeans to find ones that fit my bottom half (I have about a ten-inch difference between waist and hips). The Good American jeans seemed very good quality and were really comfy. And Nordstrom was offering everything at 10% off. I think it was to convince people to shop, but they didn't have it posted anywhere. The SA told me only when I went to check out, which I thought was strange.

There wasn't much traffic on the road for a Saturday afternoon/early evening. The returns associate at Nordstrom told me that they had about the usual amount of customers, but I thought it looked a little slow. This Nordstrom has cut its hours: now they're closing at 7 pm on the weekend, and 5 pm during the week. They are normally open until 9 or 9:30. Sad.

I was having a low buy year but I’m starting to rethink that because I want to support local retailers through this crisis. Many of our retailers made very generous contributions to bushfire relief during our recent bushfire crisis, and I feel like they deserve some support in return. Also, many of them have been on an improved sustainability drive since the bushfires. I’m so glad they are responding to climate change. It’s another development for which I think they should be rewarded. And I hate to think of how many people are going to lose jobs if this continues.
I figure I can support local restaurants and cafes by buying takeaway and shops by buying online where possible.
There has been panic in our supermarkets - toilet paper, tissues and hand sanitizer have been sold out for weeks. Rice, flour, oats and other staples are subject to a one item per person limit. It’s unnecessary because we are a country that produces most of our own food - there is no suggestion that these things will run out. But it’s a sign of how much panic there is out there.

I ordered a few raincoats and trench coats from Nordstrom to try to fill a wardrobe hole, but am lukewarm about them. Plus, it’s looking unlikely I’ll have anywhere to wear them while it’s still jacket weather. Everything is cancelled and I am thinking we may have further restrictions put upon our movements soon so what’s the point. Sigh.

Just came back from making a couple of exchanges at the mall. The women in the shoe store said traffic was WAY down this week, and it clearly did not feel like a usual Saturday. The grocery store was a different matter entirely. THAT felt like the apocalypse was coming. One one end of the retail spectrum, staff are run off their poor tired feet. At the other end is this eery quiet. Shopping for clothing does feel less urgent right now (hey, not sure if we'll be leaving the house for much longer) -- but then again, it's a good time to be out without the crowds. Playing all decisions day by day.

What I'm seeing being brought into graphic relief with this crisis is that what each one of us does impacts all of us...whether it's our physical health or the economy. Our seemingly small acts really do ripple outward. My spending habits, though limited, are able to stay the same. And I'm happy to still be contributing. I know for a lot of people they are not able to do so now.

Speaking of small acts that ripple out, here's one of joy, Italians on lockdown taking to their balconies to sing, or play instruments, even banging pots and pans. In the midst of constraint, celebrating life. There are just loads of these videos on Twitter and Instagram https://www.instagram.com/p/B9.....s3ghtmxypl

I am doing directly the opposite...if there was something I needed before, I still need it and will be buying. I'm sending care packages to my elderly friends out of town; and I am visiting the small business retail and restaurants over the next weeks or so to give them business. Taking care of my own health as well.

Personally, I’m not in a no shopping phase. My shopping habits are 100% the same. VERY carefully, mindfully and thoughtfully.

I feel soooo desperately for retail and the people that are grossly affected out of no fault of their own. I am absolutely continuing to shop to keep the economy going.

We are laying low at home for the foreseeable future, too. Schools canceled until at least mid-April, longer if necessary. I still have to look presentable (from the waist up anyway) for video calls and such, and it boosts my mood to get up and get dressed every day.

My shopping strategy hasn't changed. I didn't have any events to plan for, other than high summer weather. I still have my eye on that but, in the meantime, I am having fun editing, cleaning, and storing winter gear and bringing out pieces in anticipation of warmer weather.

It's going to be a big shift in how we interact with the world for the next few months, at least.

My shopping plans haven't changed. My purchases have been more about wardrobe-building than based on any plans or events. We're not going to be spending as much time out and about in the community as we have, but I'm still getting dressed every day.

Yeah, I have a couple of things I ordered that I'm in the process of evaluating, but otherwise putting the brakes on hard right now. As they say, $%#& is getting real.

Social distancing makes getting dressed with what I already have really easy.
