From a textile nerd standpoint, linen actually regulates temperature better than cotton. So, if you take a pair of linen pants and a pair of cotton pants that are the same weight fabric (and all other things being equal, such as tight vs loose weave, etc.), you'll feel warmer in the linen when it's cold out and cooler when it's hot out. Linen is also much stronger than cotton, which is why it can be used in much looser weaves and is associated with hot-weather wear, as a loose weave is a great form of AC. Cotton pants, even when they're lightweight, have to be very tightly woven, like poplin. Cotton gauze, for example -- really breathable, but not very durable. Also, I imagine, with these, the fuzz of the wool fibers helps fill in the gaps in the weave to make these both warm and breathable. I'm very curious to get some of this fabric in my hands and see what it's like.

Deborah, I'd say they're between true and generous sized. I want to try one of the v-neck kimono tunics next.

Skylurker, for me they'll be the perfect winter weight pant. I seem to have an odd body composition in that my bottom half runs warm. These seem about the same warmth as jeans to me.

Angie, maybe it's a fringe thing, but I'm seeing linen worn 4 seasons more and more. I think the sustainable, minimal, capsule movement seems very fond of linen year round. Seasonal confusion doesn't bother me. Cashmere in the tropics doesn't bother me either.

FWIW, I'm unsure. I don't think linen works in Winter. Very seasonally confused. Like wearing cashmere in Summer tropical heat.

But these pants look more woolly. I don't fancy the look of woolly pants that are rolled at the hem. Looks off somehow. They need a hem.

That fabric sounds scrumptious - and I like the textured, tweedy look of it, too!
The cut of the pants suits you well, too. An excellent purchase!

Thanks for the review and photos Traci! I love my Not Perfect pinafore and tab-top curtains; my next order from them will probably include either these pants or the wool blend overalls. :)

PS - I love those oxfords you're wearing!

Oh, agreed. They're better not tucked in. The tuck was more for showing the rise.

The tag says machine wash, tumble dry.

I ordered these pants several weeks ago from Not Perfect Linen on Etsy, and promised a review when they got here. I picked them up at the post office today and they are exactly what I'd hoped for.

They're unlined, but I don't find them itchy. The fabric content is 85% Linen and 15% wool. I can barely sense the wool at my waistline. Everywhere else feels soft and plush. These will be perfect winter pants. The generous rise and drawstring plus elastic waist make them very adjustable. I'm going to cry when elastic waist pants go away again.

These aren't the most styled pics, but they give a decent idea of shape. I wasn't certain on my size and took a gamble on the M/L size and they're a good fit.

I'm including a close up of the fabric texture. It's kind of between twill and flannel.
