I found several good summer items before NAS.
I had a wardrobe- hole for a more casual summer jacket, mostly for a/c. When wearing chino/ type pants or even shorts, often as part of short family trips, I found my summer blazers just too “ good” or tailored for many occasions. Safari or utility jackets are an enduring favorite of mine— I have several utility jackets that I love but that tend to look more like outerwear or are sized to go over heavier tops and also a couple are too warm.

I came across the Talbots jacket, liked the white but then said, oh, I don’t wear white that well. Plus the waist hits a tad hightthsn perfect, a chronic issue. It sold out in store and later, not finding anything I liked better, I tried the green and like how it works with many of my summer casual items, so got it in size S. Then I decided white would really work also , including with color capsules that are not as good with the green. True white is not a “ best” color but it just looks so fresh in high summer and it goes with almost everything. But only XS was left, online.
Eventually I just decided to try it since it would be with lightweight T’s and such. Darn if it doesn’t fit fine. So now I have duped it in the 2 colors. It is just right, intentionally casual, the woven fabric seems cooler in hot weather than a knit cardigan, and sturdier.

I love my ~ 5 yr old Bass Wedjuns in Cordovan but have not been able to get fit in current Whitney — too hard, too high vamped, just dont seem the same. I came these blush in soft leather— IRL are more blush and less pink than the photo- and fit in a full size smaller than my usual. Have been wearing with pencil skirts.

Then the Born flats. I really don’t wear open toe anymore except around the house. Hence fisherman type works well. These were not on my list, but they are so cushioned and comfy that I could not resist. These are for casual but not sport/ gear.
