Although I didn't need one that was specially tailored, I just got my first Brooks Brothers button down about a month ago. I love it. I had been on the hunt for a good button down and just couldn't find anything. Taylor reccommended them highly and she was right. I hope your experience with them will be as good.

You know, at first go I didn't think of myself that way. So, I went back through some of the blog posts and found that some of my favorites of your outfit posts (of course, I admire most of the things you wear, but you are you and I am me-- and I am also a hot mess) that I could see myself wearing or adapting featured a casualized button down.

http://youlookfab.com/2010/02/.....ress-code/

http://youlookfab.com/2010/08/.....b-sleeves/

Sometimes I would love to be inside other people's heads because it would be so interesting to see how people perceive me based on what I put out there.

It's worth persevering, Elly. From what I understand from your stylistic preferences, you are a button down gal.

Thanks Angie! There isn't a retail store around but is says that the special order ladies shirts are available by phone order.

Oh, thank you Maya, I think I was looking at the wrong size chart on the Carissa Rose shirts. That was dumb of me, I read the top one for the Katrina shirtdress as the one for the rest of the clothing. You are completely right. Since I feel like an idiot I did double check the other two and neither have a 27/39. Of course, I think if I was going to pay 120 dollars for a white cotton button down I would have one custom made.

Try Brooks Brothers button down shirts too - they will tailor make your size. I cannot be happier with mine.

Ellie, Carissa Rose DOES make a 27" waist with a 39" bust. You would be a SR

http://carissarose.com/whats-your-size/

I tried a shirt from there once, but it was just huge all over in the smallest available size.

I am on the search for some new t's and button downs. I have a 39" bust (32F or G) and a 27" waist. I was recently looking at my favorite t's from two years ago and realizing that I am no longer happy with them because despite being "fitted" they have a boxy/wide look on me because the waist is so much larger than mine.

So, I thought the big bust specialist companies might be a good place to start. I checked Carrisa Rose, AJ rumina, and Bravissima. In all of their clothing I would need to order a certain size for my bust. Yet, they don't make my waist size in combination with my bust size. So, the smallest waist size I could get is a 31" or so.

Then I compared that to other tops in my size. Most of the more youthful companies also had a 31" waist for a 39" bust. The size chart for my old favorite t's that are big/boxy says that. So, what is the point of having companies that specialize in women with big busts and small waists?

Now don't even get me started on the fact that I also prefer a tall length and have to have a tall if it has long sleeves.
