Since you have already ironed it on, why don’t you just hand stitch around it. I would take the wire out for washing.

I would stitch it somehow - fusible interfacing is designed to hold layers of fabric together through regular wear and washing etc, but it’s not designed to hold heavier objects like wires. I’d be afraid it’d move around in the washer and damage the mask.

When I made some masks with wires I stitched around the wires to secure them. If you’ve already finished the mask and can’t get to it with your machine, hand topstitching may be easier.

I don’t see why not, as a temporary solution. If the wire is thin, it should hold. Of course, if the wire is thin, it’s liable to break.

I wonder if that will hold. Is it stitched in place too? My mom made some with "beading" wire--from her jewelry making supplies and stitched it into place. It works well but I washed one yesterday and it got quite bent. I was able to straighten it out after I took it out of the dryer but it's not as smooth as it was pre-laundering.

I sew, but I don’t SEW if you know what I mean. I was fussing with a mask prototype and used iron on fusing to hold a piece of copper wire in place. So far so good, but of course I haven’t laundered it yet. I wondered if that might be a good temporary solution for those who don’t sew and would like to add the (not plastic encased grocery) nose wire?
