Thanks for these replies and links!!! Looks like I need to pack for varying conditions. I'll definitely need a coat right? Hopefully a lighter weight trench will be enough if I can layer it in Toronto! Or should I bring a slightly warmer red wool coat do you think?? Hmmm!!!

Yay! I’m so excited for you, Tam!

A lot can change in 10 days at this time of the year, so my suggestion is that you revisit the weather in a week and start a packing list then. You need to pack for both warm and cool weather. Definitely. The weather can turn and those cities are about walking outside in the elements, so it’s best to be prepared.

It has been windy but sunny in SF. Chills off in evening. Not as cold as Toronto for sure. You should be fine with subtracting a layer here. Mid to high 60's unless we get a sudden warm spell (even then would hit 70's but again chills/fog keeps SF insulated).
Have a wonderful trip!

NYC will likely have highs in the 50's and lows in the 40's. Toronto will be a little cooler (40's/30's), San Francisco a little warmer (60's/50's). You will probably get some rain in all of these places. And of course, this is Spring, so things can be unpredictable (I'm in the Midwest and had snow yesterday!). Try weather.com for a long range forecast. And I recommend layers. :-)

Have fun!

San Francisco will be warmer than Toronto and New York. It's still pretty cool this time of year in those places.

Here's links to The Weather Channel monthly forecast:
Toronto http://www.weather.com/outlook.....v_business
New York (I'm assuming New York City, upstate NY is a bit different)http://www.weather.com/outlook/travel/businesstraveler/monthly/USNY0996?from=36hr_topnav_business
San Francisco
http://www.weather.com/outlook.....v_business

OK guys, a week (and a few days!) before I leave I'm starting to panic and think I should have started planning a lot of things for this trip earlier. Like maybe booking tickets Oh well, I have never been a planner. I'll have a few questions over the coming days, so be warned!

This first question is all about weather.

So far it seems the itinerary will be Sydney - San Fran - New York - Toronto - ? Sydney.

Where will it be coldest right now??

I've seen a lot of mentions of 50 degree weather on these forums - is that reasonable to expect in these places? That's 10 degrees Celsius - eeep! Is that an overnight minimum, or a daytime minimum?? Will the weather be roughly the same in those 3 cities do you think??

Appreciate all input.

Future questions:

- potential wedding outfits (still thinking of the Stella dress I bought a few weeks ago but have some other contenders)
- SHOPPING destinations (of course!!!)

Thanks heaps!!

tam
