Thank you for chiming in Marianna. I know for sure it is a Nordie's brand but since I would not be the original purchaser, I would not have that information to offer if asked. I suppose I will have to approach the purchase with the idea that I may not be able to return if it does not fit.

They are lenient about a receipt because they put a sticker on the tag now that pulls up the sale. Since this is a recent item they may expect it to be on there. I guess if you pay with cash at the store, it might not track anything.

Sounds dicey to me. Does the seller not take returns, since he or she could return it, I imagine?

I work in the CS department and take returns all day long. The best answer I can give you is: it depends. Generally we need some sort of proof of purchase but we do make exceptions in certain circumstances. We don't follow a guidebook so it's up to the person helping you.

My friend returned something to Nordies she purchased years before but never wore...I'd say they have a remarkably lenient returns policy.

If it's one of the memorable pieces from this fall, I'd think the SAs would remember and not question it. Is the brand a Nordies brand, or is it sold elsewhere? From the condition of some of the Nordies returns I've seen filter down to the swap meet, my bet would be on you getting the refund.

I would totally understand if they wouldn't - I just want to know before I gamble a good chunk of change. I'm really trying to no longer buy unreturnable items. In this case, with it being sold out, my options are kinda limited . . .

hmmm, the only problem could be if it doesn't have that return sticker, they might question you, and obviously they won't be able to look it up with your credit card. They might have an issue if you can't show that you bought it from them. I've never tried to return anything without a receipt.
I'm curious to hear from others on this.

My understanding is they pretty much take any and all returns? What happens when someone buys an item off eBay that's a Nordie's brand and then goes in to return it with no receipt? It is indeed a Nordstrom item, but not purchased directly from the store itself. Does that matter? I ask not because I would be trying to 'get over' on them in any way, just in case an item I'm interested in does not fit. Interestingly, the cost is pretty much retail in this case lol. It's just a sold out size . . .
