Clearance sites like T J Maxx online and flash sale discounter Beyond the Rack all seem to keep items in your shopping cart for days, if they are sold out there will be a 'no longer available' note, but that's it. I think they hang around on Neiman Marcus Last Call for awhile too. It's useful from the retailers perspective I'd imagine because they can send you those 'did you forget' emails, I'm not sure why the Rack doesn't do it.

I recently registered for the (newish?) Nordstrom Rack website and added some items to my shopping cart. To my surprise, when I came back a bit later they were no longer there. I talked with a customer service rep via chat and found that NR only reserves items for two hours, which is totally understandable, but has no way to save anything to a wish list if you don't buy it right away, which I find inexplicable. I understand that things can sell out if I don't buy them right away, but why isn't there a way to save things I'm interested in? Thinking about it, all the ecommerce sites I use have some way to save items for later, either on a wish list or a saved items list. Am I nuts to expect this, even on a clearance site like NR?
