"They also price match things that are out of stock in the same color/size on the other vendor's site."

Really? I didn't know that - how rare! I'll have to keep this in mind.

That is brilliant information to know! I too prefer to give Nordie's my business because they are local for me.

Does anyone know how you go about establishing the lower price? If it's online I know I can just print it out and bring it, but what if the sale is something in-store only? Do they call the other store?

They also price match things that are out of stock in the same color/size on the other vendor's site. For example, I wanted my Eric Michael boots from Endless because they were on sale, but they were out of stock in my size. Nordstrom had them but they were more expensive. They matched the price anyway.

Yep, this is correct. If something is less expensive/on sale at another store, we honor the less expensive price.

Thanks so much! This is so great to know--I am the queen of price adjustments, return policies, and all the rest, so I'm just shocked that I didn't know this!

Yes, it applies to sale items as well. I bought a pair of ankle boots (in the YLF store) and they matched the online sale price from ninewest.com. As it happens, I ended up returning the boots, but the initial price adjustment was done over Internet chat and without any hassle whatsoever.

They and Zappos are my favorite stores by far, due to exceptional customer service.

I bought a sweater which a few weeks later Saks had on sale and I got a retroactive price match. Mind you I went to my usual sales associate who knew me.

I was just looking at an item on Nordstrom's website and saw this below the product description:
You'll never pay more. At Nordstrom, we are committed to offering you the best possible prices. If you ever find one of our items priced lower somewhere else, please call 1-888-282-6060 and we will gladly meet that price.

I can't believe I had no idea about this. I often find myself purchasing items from Saks that are also at Nordstrom because Saks tends to have better sales. I would prefer to give Nordstrom my business because I like their customer service better and because they have a far better return policy (I am a serial returner). Do any of the Nordstrom experts here have more information on the policy? Any idea if it applies to sale items in other stores?
