I buy most of my running clothes from Target. I have capris, athletic shorts, and skirt/short combos. I like long loose tanks (in the summer) or long-sleeve tops (in the winter) to go with my outfits. I stick to one color scheme so everything mixes and matches.

I am not much help because I wear tight running capris/leggings from Lululemon. Frankly, if anyone's looking that closely at my behind while I'm running, they get what they deserve. I do mostly wear loose shirts though to help with air circulation, and I like them best with a little bit of length so they come at least partway down my backside. I've found tops from Athleta and Lulu, but also good deals on tops from Under Armour and the like from TJ Maxx and Marshalls. The tops are easier to find. I'm way pickier about the pants because so many of them 1) are too short, 2) are wrong in the rise, 3) slide down my waist when I run, or 4) are supremely unflattering. I've tried brands ranging from Under Armour to Champion to Zella, but for me, Lulu's fits have worked the best, and they have a good amount of compression, which I like. Of course, YMMV. In really hot weather, I'll wear looser running shorts, but it's really hard to find the ones I prefer, which have a slightly longer inseam. Too many of them have teeny short inseams, and nobody needs to see *that* much of my cellulite when I run. :-D

Favorite running bras are currently Panache and Chantelle, but I'm a difficult fit and need really good support (32G) so can't wear the cute little strappy numbers they sell at Lulu and Athleta.

Favorite running shoes are Brooks Ghost, but I supinate and need good support under the heel. Favorite socks are Balega -- cushiony and last a long time!

Lululemon came out with a skirt/legging combo. I haven’t tried it, but I saw it on on someone recently and found the skirt offered plenty of coverage. Many years ago, I had ordered a running skirt and running skirt/leggings combo, but found it slipped whilst running.

Running bra: Lululemon Enlite. Extremely supportive for different planes of movement.

Shoes: Whatever’s best for your gait! I wear zero-drop shoes, and have run in Altras and Lems.

Check out the Skirtsports link above. I ran all my marathons in skirts. They are more polished than either shorts or leggings. I also wore them for my daily runs. My tops come from Athleta. My Pilates gear is mostly from Athleta. They have small tall sizes which I need. In cold seasons, I wear leggings now, but the skirtsports website had thick leggings with a skirt attached that were warm enough for me to train for a winter run of the Disney Marathon. It’s a strange run for a Boston Qualifier, because it’s a slow run, but that was my BQ run, and I was in perfect attire to run through the castle.

I like bright colors that are visible to cars. I am not one to worry too much about color coordination during a run. My running gear is practical. I like loose technical tees and tanks. Since I’m not running marathons anymore, I use my Capri length leggings in warm weather when I run in the summer. I don’t buy separate skirts anymore. One rain/wind jacket is all that’s needed and a sun visor that stays in place. My brother loves his Newton running shoes. I love my Aasics.

I’m a big fan of Brooks distance short sleeve running tees and athleta shorts. That said, I’m a walker, not a runner. Like Jill58, I’ve got a couple capris from Target C9 I like a lot too.

Ok. I just want to say, ‘Running? What’s that?’ Lol. But no, I do like capris (v shorts and skirts) with a longer ‘muscle tee’ like top or fitted running top. I’m not keen on just plain tanks and the sports bra under...

I run roughly 40 miles a week and rely on Target's Champion C9 line of running/fitness wear. All items constantly go through the laundry and everything has proven to be very durable. Running shoes are the most important element of running gear and you might be wise to go to a running store to get your first pair. I wear Saucony but everyone's gait and stride is different.

I like a sports bra plus boxy, straight long tshirt plus Capri leggings.

I like the sun coverage of the tshirt. It doesn’t fully cover my butt, but most of it is covered and it looks ok.

Oh wait! I also love shorts made of sweat pant material! I only have one pair but love the coverage. I also like cotton so there you go. I think Nike or any big brand will have these.

You could create some “sweats cut offs” from old sweat pants to give you a tough-chick rocky balboa look (joke).

I tend to like capris (no thigh chaffing) rather than running shorts and slightly long tanks. Here are a few that I have recently purchased. I especially love the Athleta capris and the Arcteryx tank. Here’s the link for the Athleta capris that seem to be missing from my finds:

https://athleta.gap.com/browse.....Text=Dobby

Not yet in finds is this Athleta tank I picked up yesterday in. Lack olive:

I am thinking of taking up jogging again. (Backstory, I recently took my five year old on a little hike, and he happily started running uphill like a mountain goat. I could not keep up!) Mostly what I see people wearing on the street are athletic leggings, which I don't fancy for myself. Knowing there are many active ladies on the forum, I wondered if anyone has some suggestions. Alternatively, if I do wear leggings, I want to keep my tushy covered. Your favorite socks, shoes, and athletic bra is also welcome information.
