@Kristin: I absolutely agree about the bootcut. I prefer that style or straight legs for my jeans, so it would make sense to look for the same style in non-jeans fabric.

@Tanya: Thanks for the links - I do prefer the Editor style Maybe I could make them less business formal by wearing colourful tops?

@mscooks: Thank you for your suggestion. I hadn't heard of palazzo pants, so I made a quick google image search; they seem very wide in the leg. I'm not very tall - would they work for me, do you think?

I can't remember where I've seen them, but what about instead of looking for chinos or skinny pants, look for bootcut? I feel like my hips and thighs are too large for chinos and most skinny pants, but I fee like bootcut evens me out.

Hi Camilla, and welcome!

Since you are looking for something dressier for business casual, how about Columnist pants from Express? Angie has been recomending them a lot lately. If the fit is a bit too slim for you, than Editors might be a good option as they are cut looser through the thigh and hip area.

Columnist: http://www.express.com/ultimat...../index.pro

Hi Camilla

Have you thought about trying a pair of palazzo pants? Thye're wide leg so should skim your hips/thighs and come in loads of different fabrics so you can choose what suits you. Jersey is obviously more casual but you can choose light cotton or chiffon if you're want more dressy looks...

Hi everyone! This is my first post here

I'd like your suggestions for trousers that aren't jeans. Skirts aside, I've been wearing jeans for years, and I want to change it up and maybe look a little more business casual as well (instead of just casual).

When I look in the stores, skinny chinos are everywhere, and they are not for my body type or taste. My hips and thighs are the widest parts of my body, so I'd like trousers that don't enhance those parts but instead add length.

Please inspire me Thanks!
