Make up "Face Chart Map" from Isabel Marant runway, 4th photo down. Interesting to read it. I think these models look really beautiful with this subtle make up application

Like Zapotee I wear make up but others don't tend to notice it unless I go with a bare face. Lighter colors and lots of blending are my main tools. I don't mind a bare face but find just a little "something" (concealer or liner) usually make a big difference.

I agree, Denise. I feel I need that extra definition, too. But if I were a whole lot younger I might feel more comfortable without it. I think if one's skin is gloriously translucent that can be the star.

Interesting, it looked like no make up to me, and the models look washed out and not very pretty in the Balenciaga show.

http://www.style.com/fashionsh.....W-BALENCIA

But it does put the focus on the clothes.

I also notice that the darker haired / eyed and complected models (like Emanuelle Alt or Alexander Wang himself) look better without make-up, to me at least. When you have very light eyes, brows, it's like you need some definition. I'm not giving up my eye pencil or mascara any time soon. Although I haven't worn foundation in 16 years.

it takes A LOT of makeup to look like you are not wearing ANY makeup.

this to me is a much more high maintenance look than just wearing some subtle slap.

In those pictures, it looks like the women really aren't wearing makeup, which is definitely a change, but I feel like the "no makeup" makeup look has been popular for awhile. I am unapologetic about wearing makeup. I don't overdo it (no heavy liner or foundation for me), but I feel a million times better when I've evened out my skin and emphasized my eyes and lips a bit. I have the low-contrast coloring that seems to require *something* in order to look fresh. Luckily, there are tons of new formulations that make it pretty easy to achieve a pretty, natural look even when you're wearing makeup.

I've noticed it, and really saw it on the red carpet for the Oscars. Very few bright lips or noticeably done up eyes/make-up.

I also noticed at the Oscar's this year that the men weren't dying their hair to cover up the grays as I've noticed was done more in previous years.

Seems a more minimalist/natural looking trend in hair and make-up going on, not an absence of make-up.

I think they all have some makeup, this is just not very obvious makeup. At the minimum, #1 and #2 have a lip and #3 has some cheek contouring, lip stain and some nude eye shadow.

I actually wear a nude eye shadow everyday that no one notices, unless I don't have it on. I would probably give you the impression that I'm not wearing any makeup if you see me IRL, and I don't wear much other than nude shadow, mascara, eye pencil- only on the outer half of my eyelid, concealer, eyebrow shadow and a lip.

You won't notice I have makeup unless I don't have it on.

I think it's much more prevalent in Europe, especially France for women to wear no makeup or barely any makeup. Now I would think the models on the runway are still wearing makeup, but just very natural looking. I thinks it's quite refreshing to see! I have been going bare faced a lot lately, and it's very liberating! Makes me take much better care of my skin now too.

I always think of ADR (Anna dello Russo) as someone who would wear bright makeup but look at this picture of her taken outside the Dries Von Noten show on 2/27. More of the same for Vogue USA's Grace Coddington (left) and Tonne Goodman (right) both in picture 2.

Then, I looked at Alexander Wang's premier line for Balenciaga and none of the models appeared to be wearing make up either.

Has anyone else noticed this or is this a freak coincidence? The one I think of who never wears make up is Emanuelle Alt, who looks great without make up (I think). Maybe everyone is following her?
