				<description>&#060;p&#062;Well, I can't actually SEE the colors, but from the descriptions that's what I'm thinking they are.  I did get this skirt in violet, barely (on the 1st day of the sale employees aren't allowed to shop to 2 pm, and by then it was sold out!  someone returned it, though, and a very vigilant salesperson snapped it up for me).&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I would also love to see what some of those colors end up being.  They sound intriguing and it's a great skirt!

				<description>&#060;p&#062;Jenavra, this is interesting information!  Even if there are some kinks in the process, I think it's great that Nordstrom is linking the warehouse and in-store inventory systems together.  I wish that other stores did that.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I'm personally glad that the skirt will come back in different colors.  The olive didn't really work with my skin tone, so I got it in gray (which I like a lot.)  I wish I had duplicated in that beautiful deep violet color.  However, I'd LOVE to try navy, burgundy, or forest green!  So fun, and such a great skirt.  I'll have to save up for January as I'm sure it probably won't be on sale immediately, unlike the NAS new fall items.

				<description>&#060;p&#062;OK, I found it.  There are some Black and Grey skirts at various Nordstrom Racks.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;It is also coming back to online, but not in the same colors (this happened last time, too, the brought it back in slightly different colors).  It looks like the colors will be black, bright navy, a couple different greens, and maybe a burgundy?&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;The bad news is, it won't be in until Jan/Feb timeframe.  Boo.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Please note, I do not have anything to do with ordering product!  So please don't think there is anything I can do to change any of this...I'm just the messenger!

Nordies recently updated their inventory system online to look at all brick and mortar store's inventory as well when determining if the item was in stock.  So, sometimes you'll order online and it will actually be shipped from the store.  This is good, but also means that when it's out online it is pretty much out everywhere.  Also, store inventory is less accurate (lots of people touching it, so it's easy for errors to occur).  So when inventory is low, it's more likely to also be wrong, unfortunately  )-:  Also, if they have a replenishment order coming in they'll backorder it, not cancel the order.  So, a cancelled order is really bad news.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Barbara, &#034;real-time&#034; is a relative term!  There are lots of system involved in the online store supply chain (distribution centers, online store software, inventory software, etc), so all those systems have to play nice.  Updating each piece takes time and is pretty complex.  The Pickup In Store flag does use &#034;real time&#034; inventory, but it's actually an inventory number that is updated with regular frequency.  Clothing and shoes is difficult because it is so size-intensive.  Some shoes have over 60 sizes (length x width)!&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Kari, in your case if you hadn't done buy online p/u in store (BOPUS (-:) then it probably would've gotten shipped from either the website warehouse or another store that had it.  Lucky you, you got it shipped for free because your store's inventory was off.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;So there you go, more than you ever wanted to know about inventory systems...LOL!

				<description>&#060;p&#062;AlaskaGirl and others: one route that you might try is calling a Nordstrom store directly to see if they can find any in your size in inventory in *any* other stores.  I had placed an order just the other day where I had requested in-store pickup and saw that my order was cancelled.  When I called, the customer service rep said that the online inventory showed that there was one of these items showing available in their store, but they were not physically able to locate it.  Since my particular store was not able to fulfill the order, he placed an order for ALL stores that had this item available in the size I had requested, and set it up so that if one of the stores has the item available, it would be shipped directly to me without having to pay any shipping charges.  It might be worth a try...
