My 83 year old mother, my twin, my younger sister (by two years) and myself. We stayed first in Paris for a week at the Quai de Voltaire right across from the Louvre. I LIVED in the Louvre. We got museum passes for a week and hit all the ones we could get to. It was heaven. Of course we also ate great food. We did find that smuggling in food to our rooms from the Monoprix helped keep some of the costs down. </p> <p> Next we went on a week long bus tour that included Normandy, Mont St Michel, Rheims, Chartres, Tours, the Loire Valley and that was beautiful and informative as well. </p> <p>We came back to Paris for a day and a night in the Latin Quarter near the Luxembourg Gardens.</p> <p>Then we went on a small barge called the Merganser II down some of the waterways of France for a week. We got to see Moret Sur Loing (where the painter Alfred Sisley did a lot of his work) and we went to Giverney. But I didn't end up getting it.<br /> I don't know why - it wasn't too long and the size was perfect, it had a few scratches but nothing too serious. It's just that when I wore it, it just wasn't 'me', if you know what I mean. I just figured that if I'm not head over heels for the way it looks in person, it isn't worth it, right?</p> <p>The shop is absolutely lovely though! It is called Carrie Bradshop (so clever!) and is full of beautiful vintage dresses, skirts, blouses, bags and jewellery. They also have a lot of big brands - YSL, Dior etc. priced very reasonably, starting at €70! Frankly, I got a bit overwhelmed and ended up getting just a scarf, another item that had caught my eye on their Facebook page.<br /> I didn't take a photo of it, but if you look at the attached pic, I bought the navy scarf with yellow polka dots on the far right, for just €5! </p>
