In summer I wear shelf bra camis and in winter I wear stretchy crop tops under my pj tops in winter. I'm not particularly pert and I just feel more supported and confident x

Ive worn cotton bras to bed for over 20yrs...did so as the mother of the boys (oldest 28). No sagging, added bonus as I am weeks away from 50.... Will probably continue even when youngest (15) leaves the nest.

Yup...have most of my adult life...can't stand going bra-less.
I'll be 58 next month and my DDs are not saggy LOL.

My current favorites are these from Under-Armour..no wires, lightly supportive and love the racer-back style and comfort on shoulders.

edited to add that I usually change into one of these when I get home/hotel at the end of the day.

Nope, never have, not even while pregnant or nursing. We use(d) a co sleeper with both our daughters, so a bra would get in the way. And yes, I am well endowed and now have stretch marks there. I will have to figure things out when I done nursing. Pregnancy has been soooo hard on my body.

Never even thought of wearing a bra while sleeping. And, my 65-year-old, post-nursing, 34D boobs are still more or less in the same place as they were when I was younger.

I'm also dubious about the "prevents sagging" advice. From what I've seen in others my age, genetics, breast volume, and overall weight gain seem to be more important in determing how much sagging a woman will experience as she grows older.

I do not (36H here, too). I feel like after a whole day in a high support bra the girls need to breathe. That feeling of taking off the bra at end of day is delightful!

When I'm home sick, I had a few older pairs of very soft all cotton bras I used to wear. I threw them out when I lost all this weight though and I'm thinking about getting another one based on this thread. Maybe i should change into something like this at night when lounging. I have to go out in the street to walk the dog before bed, so I often don't change into night clothes until after that; maybe this is a good alternative to relax.

When travelling I use a sports bra, absorbs sweat, etc. yes it gives the dread uniboob a bit, but it doesn't chafe as much. Mine have a higher cut on top so under a v neck it looks like a camisole.

It never occurred to me to need something like this. So not only do I have to worry that I have prematurely aged skin due to not wearing sunscreen in my 20s & 30s. But I also know that I've caused more sagging due to not wearing a nighttime bra! LOL.

To be serious, I would worry that so much lycra would be bad. Unless it was 100% cotton. Have you ever travelled for 48 hours? Then you know what it feels like to have your chest trapped in lycra for a long period, without a chance to breathe.

I get too hot when I sleep and I do not need any extra layers on me. And especially not a sports bra. Those are way too structured and constricting...comfy enough when running, but definitely not for sleeping. It would be like sleeping in a bullet proof vest.

I have what I call "pajama bras", but I don't sleep in them. They are all Decent Exposures bras, modified with a specific set of modifications to fit me well; when I was pregnant and nursing, DE were the only bras that fit me (UK 32Q/US 32M -- if sizes went that high -- while nursing.) They are fine for daily casual wear, too, though obviously I am no longer in 32Qs and had some smaller ones made.

I *could* sleep in them, but mostly I wear them undernear my PJs after changing in the evening or before changing in the morning. I am very busty (UK 32K) and my breasts are a bit saggy, so it's terribly uncomfortable to do without.

No thanks, after a full day in a real bra, my girls enjoy a bit of relief. I have one of those simple lounging bras for days when I'm not leaving the house, but I've never worn a bra overnight. My breasts don't seem worse for it, although I've never had a baby, so that may be why I've had relatively very little sagging.

Not by preference, though like others I did while breastfeeding. But I do quite often end up wearing one to bed because sometimes I just wear my lounge clothes to bed. Often I'll take the bra off, but not always!

Yes! and I am so thankful that the sleep bra has been invented. Because I have an ample bust I always feel more comfortable with some support at night. Before the sleep bra, I would just sleep in my regular sport or even underwire bras which really aren't that comfortable. The sleep bras are so comfortable and just lightly keep things in place without and thick bands or wires. You hardly know you have anything on. And like the others mentioned it's a little less awkward when people come to the door or with teenagers running about.

For comfort (to keep the girls contained and not get into painful positions while sleeping) I must wear something to sleep in. Usually it's a shelf bra cami. I have a few "sleep bras" but have not found one I like a lot yet. It needs merely to lightly contain, not constrain.

Yes! I've been wearing cotton-rich bralettes as sleep bras for the past 4 or 5 years. Ever since I lost muscle tone during menopause, I've needed a way to keep the girls in line for sleep comfort.

Thanks for asking this, I am finding myself in situations like Beth Ann described, mostly due to inquisitive toddlers and early arrival of the housekeeper. Right now, I run and pop on any bra I can come across to give myself some coverage, but it would probably be a good idea for me to find something to pop on in the AM pre-shower/pre-dressing for modesty purposes.

Same as Robin! That and, if I fall asleep in a bra, I'll wake up from the discomfort, regardless of whether it's a soft cup or underwire.
