Any advice?" https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/newcomer-to-rag-bone-any-advice#post-944311 Wed, 29 May 2013 22:39:43 +0000 Aziraphale 944311@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ Tags are off!  Cciele, glad you like your R&B skinnies.  The fabric is soft on mine too, so hopefully they won't pill.  We'll see.   Raisin, about the sizing....hahaha.  Funny you should ask, because I took a much smaller size than normal in these, and I had a big conversation with the SA about vanity sizing.  The ones I bought are 24" waist/30" inseam.  To be clear, I do NOT have, nor have I ever had, a 24" waist.  Not even close.  It's more like 27 or 28".  However, these pants are low in the rise, which means the waistband sits across my hips, and my hips are quite narrow -- around 34".  I think what's going on is that the "ideal" female shape involves a waist measurement that is 10" smaller than the hip measurement.  According to this ideal, my waist should be 24".  The fact that it is not doesn't affect the fit of the pants, since they sit nowhere near my actual waist. So the upshot is, Rag & Bone may fit a little big, or maybe not.  I think it depends on your shape.  But if it helps, all the other jeans in my closet range from a size 25 to 27.  These new R&B ones are the only ones in a size 24. I also have a pair of R&B army green skinnies and I love them. My only nit with those is the fabric is soft, so it's starting to pill where the inner thighs rub together. Any advice?" https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/newcomer-to-rag-bone-any-advice#post-944181 Wed, 29 May 2013 19:08:54 +0000 Aziraphale 944181@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ Thanks for your input, ladies.  I have no concerns about the fit and style of these pants.  They are very comfortable and I can tell they suit me, plus they have a lot of features I really like, such as back flap pockets that fall in exactly the right spot and interesting seam/pocket/waistband details that produce a sleek yet military-inspired effect.  Total score.  I was just curious about the quality of the brand -- do they hold up when you wash them?  Do they bag out?  I hate wasting money on something that dies shortly after purchase.  For for the price tag, I imagine these will not. I'm wearing them now, tags on.  I've just spent a happy hour trying them on with every top and pair of shoes I own.  As a bonus, I've discovered that they look great with my beloved black-with-red-buttons steampunk boots (Libby Smiths, for you Fluevog enthusiasts) that don't get much wear despite their awesomeness because I find them hard to style.
