I assume you use chemical sunscreen vs. physical sunscreen? Sunscreen is a pain for me anyway, so I try to put it on and let it dry before putting on clothing, or being very, very careful to rub it in well under the neckline.</p> <p>I don't see why a silver neckace would do this. All I would say is, maybe try the same process with a white shirt, and no sunscreen, to see if the same thing happens.&nbsp;</p> <p>I do like your summery outfit, but I agree--almost any denim is hard when it gets warm.&nbsp; </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/new-utility-pants-and-tarnish-question#post-2412852 Wed, 13 May 2026 14:39:52 +0000 JAileen 2412852@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>Yesterday, I ran some errands in the morning, then went out in the afternoon to the dentist. &nbsp;It was in the low 90s in the afternoon, but I thought cropped pants were better for the dentist than shorts. &nbsp; I wore my new railroad stripe Wit and Wisdom Utility crops, a new white sleeveless tee, old navy Vionic flipflops, and a sterling silver necklace and pendant. &nbsp;I carried a newish small natural and navy canvas tote from Lands End, with an embroidered strap from Amazon. &nbsp;I’ve been using it a lot since I got it. &nbsp;I felt pretty good in this outfit in the morning. &nbsp;The pants are made of heavy denim and were a little too warm for the afternoon. &nbsp;I sized down, but the waist was still a bit big, but not too much.</p> <div><br /></div><div>As I was getting ready for my dentist appointment, I noticed tarnish on my tee, at the neckline. &nbsp;The chain had seemed untarnished but obviously wasn’t. &nbsp;I wonder if the fact that I was wearing sunscreen or that I was a little sweaty had anything to do with it. &nbsp;&nbsp;I changed tops to go to the dentist. </p> <p>I suppose this has happened before, but I wear a lot of charcoal, so I wouldn’t have noticed it. &nbsp;Has anyone else experienced this? &nbsp;Did you change how you store your jewelry? &nbsp;I&nbsp;don’t want this to happen again, so instead of my lackadaisical jewelry storage, I suppose I should get those special anti tarnish bags. &nbsp;Any recommendations would be appreciated.</p> </div><div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><br /></div></p>
