Obviously my year long reading helped me with the purchase. I tried on several boots and new that if they gaped around calf area that wasn't good and the height had to be right (tall but not too tall). </p> <p>This was the boot that fit best and the zipper in the back is what made it easy to put on. I was looking at the zipper from a functional aspect! Never even looked at it as a design element. Boy! do I have a lot to learn!
