I was swayed by Sal’s comments about the longevity of such pieces and Fash’s point about its potential as a “third piece” in warmer weather, so thank you both!</p> <p>Pants are going back. I compared them to my olive shirt jacket and decided the color just wasn’t doing it for me. I’m really looking for a true olive. Add in them being 2-3” too long (I am 5’9” but all that height is in my torso!) and it’s just too many small things to be a keeper at the price. I think that this is the kind of style where sizing up doesn’t give an ideal result. I’ll have to put mine on and look at the fit — I suspect it’s rather similar to how these fit you, actually. I also think that because mine are darker in color, that helps disguise the creasing I inevitably get at the hip, which doesn’t necessarily mean they’re too small — in fact, sometimes I get that more with pants that are a bit roomy. </p> <p>The length with the zips at the ankle are another story — again, I’d be inclined to embrace them and play around with styling them in various ways before committing, but I like the vibe on you. When it comes to trousers, my personal gauge is whether I can sit, squat &amp; bend without discomfort or giving everyone an eyeful I've had my eye on those trousers for quite a while myself, but didn't pull the trigger for those reasons. </p> <p>This is part of the issue I have with PC - so many gorgeous pieces that I'd love to buy, but no idea how I'd actually use them in real life. I did buy the Dynasty Velveteen jeans on deep discount this summer because of the lovely pattern, but now I'm struggling to find outfit inspiration for them, lol typical... </p> <p>PS - Language geek alert! The pants are motorcycle pants so yeah, they fit close. These don’t look like a bad fit to me at all. If they’re the same fabrication as mine, it’s a pretty substantial fabric that is best suited to cooler temps, so yeah, I can see how they might not feel quite right at the moment. I haven’t even had mine on yet this season. I would wear them around the house a while to see how they feel as you go through your day.
