Yes, agree! I practice this with the rest of my wardrobe, not sure why I didn't implement it with the swimwear so far.

Cute suit! And echoing all the others who say that the best swimwear is the kind you put on and then just concentrate on enjoying yourself. As a matter of fact, I think that's the best kind of outfit for any activity...

Thanks you two! Had to laugh at the boobs comment. And I'm definitely going to wear sunblock, my skin can't take much sun. I never ever try to tan, it wouldn't work anyway. If I'm lucky I'm getting a bit of a healthy look without being burned in the process.

That's a gorgeous suit!!! I agree with the others. It matters that you are comfortable in it. I personally feel way more comfortable in one pieces and tankinis and they flatter me more!

Love that suit! And who cares if it makes your bust look smaller. I love the look. And boobs are overrated. Wear sunblock, though, otherwise that high strap in the back will give you a weird tan line!

That is a great suit, fun and a bit different. If it fits you well, and you feel happy and comfortable it, that is all that really matters. The fact that it tested well in water only adds to the reasons to keep it.

Thanks Sally! I finally tested it yesterday doing rounds in my neighbourhood public swimming pool and it worked out great. I felt secure in and out of the water. I'm happy it worked out well.

Lovely swimsuit Astrid. Perfect for the pool and water based activities on your upcoming trip to NZ and Australia. I prefer a secure one piece for activities such as boogie boarding, kayaking and definitely lane swimming.

Sara, that's right. I don't think I know anyone with a pool, even among the people who own a house with garden.

Thanks Crazyone! That swimsuit looks great.

Thanks Kiki! I had swimsuits that fell into the competitive swimming category before, it was pretty much the only thing I wore until I was twenty. But those were way less "fashionable". And those swimsuits are usually cut fairly revealing, at least where I'm shopping. That was fine as a child and teen, but with the weight gain in my early twenties those swimsuits were accidents waiting to happen! There's no danger of that with this one.

This is a style I associate with competitive swimming suits, so if you like that style, you might shop at those places, which are quite distinct from ordinary "resort" swimwear stores. These suits can be very flattering when worn close-fitting, and they get looser in water, so you absolutely are looking for a fit with no wrinkles or slack when standing.

You are right, the most valuable thing about a swim suit is the ability to stop thinking about it and your body when wearing it.

I also mostly wear a one-piece when I go swimming at the university pool, though in some ways i prefer two pieces since they make the bathroom issue easier. I generally wear this reversible suit which is a simple one-piece by Maaji, which is a mid-priced fashiony swimwear brand, but their fit and prints and fabrics are so much nicer than what I got in Target, etc. I haven't been bold enough to wear the #RealMermaid side yet so I just wear it inside out. I've always gotten lots of compliments on it, and it's held up extremely well to swimming, unlike my previous swimsuit. I hope yours works out for you, it looks cute+practical!

Astrid, I would guess you don't live in an environment conducive to pools. I live in the desert where every other person has a pool in their backyard so being invited to someone's house in the summer for a casual dinner has the potential to include pool time. In fact, we have a pool in our backyard and have hosted pool parties for the neighborhood.

Thanks Elizabeth! You're right, it's no use if you don't feel comfortable.

Maneera, you're right. It is sexy, but at the same time actually quite modest. I feel great in it. Your new ones look great too! I really like the colors of the first.

Sara, I have never been to a pool party and probably won't ever go to one, but you're right that there's very few pieces that are in between. Somehow it's often either sport suits or it's lined and ruched to the max.

Great suit! I love the pattern and the open back. I have one-piece and two-piece swimsuits since I like bikinis for the beach, but one-pieces for events like pool parties, etc. I find it hard to find one-piece swimsuits that are cute and not dowdy.

I said on Sally's thread about her new bikini that I wasn't all that happy with the way I looked in my bikini on my last holiday (even though I know that I have no reason to feel bad). So when I came across this one-piece swimsuit that looked so different - in a good way - to anything else I've seen, I just had to try it. And I really love it and love the way I look wearing it. Yes, it makes my small breasts look even smaller. My bikini is bra sized with underwires, so this makes a big difference compared to the one-piece that only has a built-in shelf bra that doesn't do anything for me. But you know what, I don't care. Somehow this suit looks so much better to my eye. And I love the high front and the way it is cut in the back. And the pattern makes me feel more dressed somehow! I just pray that it helds up to actual swimming. I'm tempted to go try it out right now.
