My mum is also generally very “proper” (I mean that in a loving way), so I was pretty surprised too! Re: lockdown. Yes, plenty of ongoing restrictions. Still required to wear masks indoors and there are capacity restrictions on restaurants etc. Plus unvaccinated people aren’t (yet) allowed to go to restaurants or attend gatherings. They have tied the easing of restrictions with increasing vaccination rates.
