I realise I might not find it easy dyeing the shoes&nbsp;and as I said in an&nbsp;earlier reply, I found some information that suggested an interim shade of dye before doing the final colour. Maybe I will try a light cream tone first over the&nbsp;green as I don't want brown shoes. Not that I don't like brown as a colour, but... That is what you will get in color mixing. If you want a bright, clear red, then you need white shoes. If you want a slightly toned red, then pale colors underneath can be OK, even pale green. It will only slightly brown down the red. You MIGHT be able to get a deep burgandy color over that green, or a very deep redddish brown.</p> <p>Experiment. Do you have something else green, even paper, that you could try swatching the dye over? It won't be the same as leather, but it should give you some indication of how the pigments will mix. </p> <p>IF you can find a very opaque leather dye, then you could cover the green. It will look a little mor elike paint then, but you won't get the muddy color from the pigments mixing.</p> <p>Good luck! Thanks Astrid!</p> <p>Well the shoes arrived 2 days ago and I'm thrilled, I love them!...and guess what?..I'm not going to dye them. I'm keeping them just as they are. They are made in Italy and it seems the Italians just 'get' my foot shape because they fit so well. </p> <p>So red shoes...well, I decided that the two-part green shoes with ankle strap shown in the last photo, which I've had for a few years, are a definite candidate for the bottle of red dye. I call that a win, win situation :D</p>
