Please post as many times as you need to! I need to find new specs and expect a frustrating search so I want many postings by others to seem normal.

And I am another person whose favorite is #3. It is interesting how the photos make the frames look a bit large. Wonder if that is truly the case IRL?

I did 3 posts. One shop seemed to have more petite or small options. That was Specsavers for me which is a UK chain that came to NZ and has done well here. I didn’t want to try online really because of my tricky progressive lenses. And one Australian chain that is cheaper looked promising but then the “XS” size which fitted me best wasn’t deep enough for my progressives. I ended up paying $769 all up which made me pleased that I only do it every few years!
Like you I went to many stores- 6 I think, 4 different suburbs, and boy was I sick of it. But having worn them several weeks now I am happy.

Please don't feel embarrassed by needing more than one or two rounds to find the right ones. (Again, it took me FOREVER!) This is something you have to wear on your face, in public, every day. It's hard work. The advice about knowing your numbers is very good. I was lucky enough to ultimately find a good salesperson who steered me to the right pair -- but I had to go through a few rounds and MANY try ons first. I think she pulled out one last pair in almost desperation and they were finally the ones. A few others had come close, but they all just seemd overwhelming on my face. Those shapes look SO good on so many people, but they didn't feel like ME. There's a sweet spot that combines the shapes and colours that work well for your face shape and colouring but also for your personal sense of style. There were glasses I'm sure looked perfectly fine on me, but they didn't project what I wanted them to. I say ask again as often as you need to. :-)

Sorry it took so long to respond, I posted this right before bed then
had to go to work earlier than usual.
Thanks for your responses and collective wisdom - back to the drawing board again! I wonder if frames are just larger these days? It seems any smaller ones I have tried have been *too* small for my face.
I may be too embarrassed to post a third round of options.

I like 3, 6, 2 and 7 in that order, 3 and 6 because of awesome colours, 2 as my favourite of the quieter colours if you might prefer that- they do look softer than 1. 7 also has lovely colour.
Your current ones are nice. I took ages in my recent search and they do look better somehow when the lenses are put in, more part of me somehow. I found looking at the numbers on the inside of the arms very helpful- lens depth, bridge width, lens width. I compared with my previous ones and got slightly narrower bridge which seemed to fit better. Here are pics of the front and second runners for me, ended up with the first ones. Neither of these were the YLF original faves but then YLF collectively is not wearing them, I am.

More love for 3. Those are the ones that immediately caught my eye. My only hesitation is the width of the frame. I'm not a glasses person but I wonder if they are just a tad too wide?

You are adorable! Love the little cat's eyes when you were a kid.

Glasses shopping is so darn hard.

I feel as if the fit still isn't right on any of these. However, with that in mind.

Love the colour of 1.
Love the shape and colours of 3 but fit still seems wide. However, if the phone is exaggerating their size, maybe not.
Eyes seem most centred in #5 but they are too high on the brow line.

So....maybe if you find a pair that fit right, then you can work on colour and shape. Find out how wide, how wide the bridge, how long the arms need to be. There will be tiny variations between styles (e.g.. you might be able to wear a 15 bridge in one and a 16 in another style or a 48 wide in one and a 51 in another --- these are just sample measurements of course.) The point is, getting those numbers gives you a much clearer sense of what to try and what to avoid, and then you an always have the store order in the colours you want (or at least a lot of stores will do this).

Glasses shopping is hard! I agree with others that the shape and color of #3 are really nice on you.

I think #4 looks like the best fit, as your eyes seem centered best in
them. But they extend up over your brow line, which suggests that they
sit too high.

These two would be my picks of this group.

Your comment that all of the frames look bigger in the pictures than in real life is helpful, because to my eye, they all seem a little big for you overall. Are you taking the photos with your phone? I think the phone exaggerates the size of glasses (as it did in my profile picture here, in fact).

Oh, I feel your pain. It took me YEARS to find my current pair. I tried on several in the shape you're trying on and I also found they felt much larger in the photo than they were in real life. Of course, new glasses always take getting used to,

I love your cute little cat eye glasses btw!

But, to the ones you are trying now... You seem happiest in #3 -- not sure if that is indicative of how you feel in them, but I think they look good. I love the colour of #1 -- it's very flattering on you.

Good luck with your hunt. If it helps at all, after literally years of hunting, I knew my current pair were "the ones" within a matter of minutes. Picture below FYI -- classic shape but with some colour. Colourful but not wild. Bold but not aggressive. You'll find your "perfect match".

Photos from my most recent outings. I’ve been to every store in town and a couple of others in a nearby town....

As much as I dislike showing my face on line, my present glasses are becoming bothersome and I’m feeling like I want a new pair. I like them to have the matching clip on or magnetized sunglasses so the selection is limited. Also, with progressive lenses I don’t want to buy online.

The frames all seem to look bigger on me in the photos than what I see when I look in the mirror!

#1 is from the trip in my first post.

#2 same frame in a different color - maybe the color makes a difference in how the fit looks? I don’t know.

#3 love the colors

#8 is my current pair

#9 just because - I have worn glasses forever (how do you like those chompers??)

Any keepers in this bunch?

Thanks!
