I actually think keeping the skirt relatively fitted (i.e. in the waist) and having a size-up in the top/tee would be an interesting silhouette on you. The key is reining in the volume by tucking the shirt in and thereby defining the waistline. Let me see if I can dig up a link.

Here:
http://www.urbanoutfitters.com.....oductSize=

I don't love what she's wearing, particularly, but this is the basic idea of the silhouette.

Thanks you all, great ideas!

Elizabeth - I actually don't have any purple, red or yellow tops! I'm sure it'd look great, I've just never felt like they were "my" colours... maybe time to reconsider!

Dawn - I have a couple of blue tees; I don't know if the skirt might look black, but it's actually a dark navy blue, but from what I remember from one of Angie's posts about blue and blue, different shades work together, so I guess it could work! I love your idea of a graphic tee and flats, that's definitely something I wouldn't have thought of myself! Thank you, and, it's from Urban Outfitters (http://www.urbanoutfitters.co......irtsshorts)

Dashrashi - thank you! Again, love the idea of a tucked-in graphic tee! Do you mean I maybe should size up in the skirt, and have a quite fitted top as the defining item?

I've taken some pics with quite a few different tops, I thought I'd split them up into different posts, and see what you all think. I hope to get more of your clever comments! Many thanks!

The shape to me (the way it bells out) is agitating for a tucked-in top. On the plus side, I think this means you can go a bit blousier than you might otherwise. Second Dawn's suggestion of a cream graphic tee, but consider sizing up, and letting the tucked-in shirt do the work of defining your figure. I think that's a very contemporary and young silhouette, and really suits your style.

I would definitely wear it with purple, blue or red. Maybe a shirt or fitted blouse tucked in... or if you wanted to be really trendy, I would wear it with a cream graphic tshirt and flats! It's so cute, where did you get it?

Very cute! How about a red or purple fitted top to balance out the fullness of the skirt? Or even a warm yellow top? I love skirts like this!

I bought this skirt today, I really quite like it - what do you think? Should I keep it? I'd also love any ideas you have of what I can wear with it; I find it really hard to "see" those things myself, how to mix and match.
