I've had this recently with Fitflops. I wanted to replace an old pair with something similar and none of the new styles fit for the same reason you described above. I'd return.

Ok, I'll bow to the general wisdom and not try to alter them. But I will try the ball of foot cushions. If it works, then maybe we can discuss whether I really need to pair of blush pink suede heels....

...but they are beautiful.

...and one was half price.

I agree with others, I would return them. shoe alterations are hit and miss, even with simple shortening the heel. Maybe you can try to put a ball of foot cushioning and see if it will fill up the space and at the same time give you more comfort!? https://www.target.com/p/fab-f.....ref=tgt_ad

Agree with delurked. Keep looking. Shoe sizing isn't completely consistent.

I would be inclined to return. Not all shoes will have the volume you're talking about. I would order some more and try again.

Do you have a cobbler/shoe repair person you have used before? If so, give him/her a call and ask. If this is a reasonable alteration, I would bet some cobblers would feel comfortable with it, but not all.

I've received shoes in my regular size from two different stores recently that are the right length and width, but don't fit because there's extra room between the top of my foot and the upper of the shoe. My feet haven't changed...I'm thinking manufacturers are gravitating to accommodating the "high volume" foot.

Obviously ordering another size won't help. I'm wondering about having a shoe repair person cut them down for me. Have you ever done this? Did it work? Did it cost an arm and a leg?

Urgent because I'm leaving down and need to return these if they're hopeless.
