Thanks everybody for their suggestions on how to solve the problem! I've decided to return them though. I wore them a bit around home yesterday and they are definitely too small. I'm not sure if stretching them a bit would suffice and I don't want to risk it not working out in the end. I'm a bit sad because I really like the look, but I think I should be able to find something similar elsewhere. I'll definitely look for that style! I'm not sure why they didn't seem to be too small in the store - I feel a bit bad about returning them, but I know it's the right thing to do.

Astrid - if they only need to stretch a little, definitely use the rubbing alcohol trick (just remember to only rub it on the inside of the shoe) - I've done this and it really does work! These are gorgeous shoes and totally go with your style - good luck!

I had some shoes that were tight and I filled up a couple of ziploc bags 1/2 filled with water and put them side the shoes and stuck them in the freezer until it froze. That will stretch them. You can only do this if they are leather. If you google it, there are some other methods of stretching, too. They are cute and i hope you can get them to work!

Rae and Janet are right about shoes being able to give a little. I have had the cobbler stretch them a tad myself. Just make sure that they only need a LITTLE stretching. They are super cute shoes and yes they complement your hair very nicely!

Astrid, I think it cost me $10 or so -- we stretched width-wise (unusual for narrow-footed me) and it worked like a charm. Almost too well in one case!

Thanks Denise!

Thanks Rae! I hadn't heard of that before.

Janet, it's in the width. How expensive was it to take yours for stretching? The bigger size was better in width, but then they were too long and I was slipping out at the back.

I have had a couple of pairs of shoes stretched successfully at the cobbler. These look like good candidates for that. Is the snugness in the width or the length?

I like them, and I think they work nicely with your bag.

You can also swab the insides with rubbing alcohol and then put them on and walk around the house. That often stretches them out a bit.

They are cute shoes and I believe they will stretch out. Start with thin socks. I have leather shoes that have taken time to break in.

You should put them on again at night - when your feet are at their "most" and check them. I am liking them quite a bit so hope they fit right.

Thanks, Rachylou. I normally don't compromise either, but I have a really hard time finding shoes that fit right. They were more comfortable this morning when I hadn't done so much walking yet.

Thanks, Kirti. I'm not sure if I should keep them with the idea of getting them stretched. Maybe I'll try to wear them a bit tomorrow and see whether they are comfortable or not. I don't want to buy new shoes that don't fit right.

Yay new shoes! I'm sure they will stretch out a bit, it is for you to decide if they are a little too tight. You could also try getting them stretched? I do love the colour on you though and I really like the look with the tights and the pants

I decided to look for some much needed items today, you can see what I had on my list here:

http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....r-tomorrow

I'm now at home again and rather exhausted and I have none of the things that were on my shopping list besides some shoes. And I still have to decide if I keep them. Although there was one more positive thing, I also managed to buy two new bras and I really hate shopping for them.

The shoes are bookending my hair perfectly, I was really surprised when I saw this in the store. That never happened before! The were a bit tight (remember my wide feet?), but one size up was too big even with insoles. These are real leather, so I think they should give a bit. I really took notice of it when I tried them on now after 8 hours of walking. Anyway, I can only wear thin tights or one pair of thin socks in them, but I think that would be okay for these shoes. Should I keep them even if they are a bit tight? Or would you say that one shouldn't compromise with shoes and they have to fit right from the beginning?

Do they work with my bag in #2? I'm unsure about the two browns together. I like the look with pants (#3/4), but do you think they work with a skirt and dark tights like in #1? I would only keep them if I'll be able to wear them with a skirt.
