I use an over the door shoe organizer. Each slot for shoes holds several scarves. It is made of clear vinyl/plastic so I can see the scarves, and I have them in color groups, much the way you do. I like it, and it keeps drawer and closet space clear for other items.

Hahaha! I know how that is. I cheat & use a folding guide the size of my cubbies. Much easier!

What a great idea, I would love to have mine that way. Alas, I am too lazy to fold them after every wear and they hang in a messy back of the door hanger arrangement, which works because I usually try on half a dozen before landing on the "one"!

Good idea. I have been working on closet and dresser re-organizing this weekend and was debating what to do with scarves.

Looks like a good solution! I hang them over a velvet hanger, but it's kind of a mess, this is much neater, and I'd assume with small piles the scarves wouldn't develop creases. I love organizing clothes by color, makes it much easier for me to find things quickly and see patterns in my closet at a glance. If I wasn't tracking wears, I would forget about half the jeans in my dresser, so I agree, it's better if you can see them.

I was given a friend's open cedar wine shelving a few months ago & rigged it up to be my 'walldrobe', making a little more closet space for my husband.

I keep shoes, tees, jeans, and accessories here. (I don't have to worry about light damage because our bedroom has north facing french doors and only very high & indirect clerestory light from two sides).

I've tried grouping the scarves lots of different ways & only today hit upon color families. And the weirdest thing is that completely balances them out!

I feel ready to add new scarves with confidence that I'm not repeating colors or patterns and I love the crayola-box effect of seeing them all at once when I'm making an outfit.

I admit, it's out of sight out of mind when I store things in drawers and trunks. Anyone else have that problem?
