What do you mean by open vamp, Nicole? I"m not sure I understand that expression.

I like al three, but they are very different and should be worn in different situations. The first pair are very casual. I wouldn't wear them with skirts. They are a little too beach flip floppy to be a go to shoe, IMO.

The second pair, being more strappy, seem more dressy to me. You could wear them with skirts and dresses. The third pair are great, but I'm still confused about whether or not they are open enough to wear with skirts. (that whole open vamp thing again). I'd definately pass on the first pair, esp at $50. If you want to have a pair similar, you can pick up a cheap-o pair at Payless or Target for less than $10. They'll last thru the summer.

The second pair is great! It sounds like you need a comfy yet sophisticated-looking sandal, and this one fits the bill. I do think the first pair is too casual, especially for dresses. The third pair is good too, but I still think the second pair is more feminine.

Christie, I know what you mean about your husband not being happy that you're not finished yet. I can usually get the things I want, but I have to space it out. Somehow that seems to make it easier for him to accept. So I just slip something in here and there. He's catching on though.

I really like the third pair. I will probably have to wait until later in the summer to get them. Let us know how they fit/feel, will you? I'm not sure my J. Crew will get them in (they don't get many shoes).

Oh Christie, he sounds like my hubby!!! My hubby can actually fit just fine in a size medium sweater, but he refuses to wear a medium. Says only real men wear larges - boys and scrawny kids wear mediums. He can't wrap his mind around the concept of vanity sizing, which is at work in mens' wear, just in a different diretion. So he continues to wear things he's had since college - and he's now 45. I have taken to buying him mediums and snipping out the label.

I'm still working on my husband. I'm leaning towards the third pair, but I just bought a bunch of new stuff (dresses, sweaters, shoes), and he doesn't seem happy with the fact that I don't feel finished yet.

He's just jealous because he is too skinny to find clothes that fit, so all of his are falling apart and crappy, while he waits for the nation to slowly lose weight, and he can be sized back into clothes. Seriously, what can I do with the man? He's killing me!

I like the look of all the sandals Christie (despite the fact that my feet hurt just looking at them!) I think that you’ll get more use out of the second and third pair because they can be dressed up or down. Let’s change the formula this Summer!

( p.s So glad you’re a white denim convert. You shan't look back)

Thank you both for your input.

I'm not set on JCrew. I have looked at Endless.com, zappos.com, Ann Taylor Loft, and Nordstroms. Of all, I like those the best for the price. I like the simplicity of JCrew's style. The shoes are a "known." Because I have bought many pairs of shoes from them, I know what to expect. Plus, their shoes are all made in Italy, which I think justifies the price to an extent.

I'll narrow it down to the second vs. the third pair. I think the third pair might work well with nicer outfits because of the slight heel...

oh decisions, decisions!

I like the last pair the best, but they are pricey. The second pair are my second favorite. Still a bit high for what you are getting. I don't like the first pair. I feel the same as Tanya on that one. Do they have to be J. Crew? There are zillions of options out there at a better price. I understand though if you are set on J. Crew. If you really like a store it's hard to look anywhere else. Sometimes it's easier to shop one store also. Makes decision making easier. I know I can get overwhelmed with selection sometime. You know if you buy the last pair you might not have to replace them for a couple of summers or more. That can justify the price tag.

I personally like the second pair the most, but then you should know that i don't like thong style sandals in general. They would look great with white jeans!

This shoes: http://www.jcrew.com/catalog/p.....=cat302260

have been my go-to summer shoes for the last couple of summers. I get a new pair each summer. I'm wondering what everyone thinks about them before I buy again. Are they too casual? I like them because I tend to walk everywhere, so heeled sandals are uncomfortable, and I hate wearing close-toed shoes in the summer. (I become quite a free spirit in the summer and wear minimal amounts of clothing. Also something to do with the average high being 90 and refusing to use air conditioning).

I'm also considering these: http://www.jcrew.com/catalog/p.....=cat302260

I'm looking for something to wear that would look ok with dresses and pants, but are nice and distinctly summery. I really don't want to walk around in heels all summer. But I might consider these (though they are a bit more than I'd normally want to pay):
http://www.jcrew.com/catalog/p.....=cat302260

I will probably be buying white jeans soon (thanks Angie!) instead of dark denim. I'll save that Diesel purchase for fall. I haven't been thrilled with what I've seen online. I need to decide if I want these jeans to be flat jeans or heel jeans. But since I tend to like those capri sandals so much in the summer, I'm considering flats jeans (I will be buying inexpensive jeans because my husband normally doesn't let me buy white clothing, so that will be the compromise. yes, I'm a bit (a lot ) messy).

Would love your thoughts.
