I was shocked to find out that I really didn't like them with anything that I wanted to wear them with. It was a totally emotional reaction and hard to explain, although I suspect it's because I'm really into low contrast looks right now for pants & shoes and bright red is high contrasts with everything. They also seemed too visually  "busy" (ankle strap, open toe, jute sole)  with the striped dress and the b/w print one. Lovely shoes just not right for my wardrobe right now. Windchime, yes red shoes are definitely energizing. I've loved red shoes most of my life and have usually had at least one pair but had been without so it was time. Thanks Pil, BrieN, Jaileen, Aquamarine, Firecracker, DonnaF...especially thanks for the comments about heel height I'll think through that as I do the final hemming.    I just received the Clark shoes and they are totally wonderful! They are definitely the winner so far. No wonder they are one of Angie's top picks. Really pretty on, super comfortable, very soft leather, a little more modern looking than the RL ones especially due to the ankle strap. I think I can call them tomato red although Clark's calls it "grenadine". There is one minor fit issue that I've had with most open-toed shoes but I'm tired of letting it boss me around...(to use an Angie expression). The front edge of the shoe rubs on the skin near my big toenail and I know it will cause a blister almost immediately  if I don't take some action. The first thing I will do is order 1/2 size down to make sure I have the right size, could be that it's just a bit too loose. I wear 6 1/2 or 7 and I can never be sure which will be right even within brands I wear all the time. I usually order both sizes to begin with. If  that isn't the solution, next I will try body glide, which will work but I find it rubs off sometimes. If that doesn't work I found the "find" item below which I will try. It will also look great with either of the red espadrilles. I would pick the middle length for the look as you're standing, but I would defer to Angie's experience. (I think all three lengths look fine, and if you were only going to wear it with flats, I would have picked the shortest one.) They have passed the 10-minute wear test; longer test to come. I love red shoes and haven't had any in a few years, except some uncomfortable ones I've been holding as a reminder. I have looked at a lot of them online and decide to go with summery/pretty and a closed toe. I bought them to go with the striped dress that I shared earlier in it's original long length. I've pinned the dress sleeves up a bit and the hem at 3 different lengths and would like to ask for your opinions on the hem length and the shoes. 1 - striped dress hemmed to longer length 2 - same with slightly shorter length 3 - same, even shorter Also thinking the shoes could go with some other items like the print dress I just got, light olive chinos and navy top, or white jeans with grey top.  (all shown in finds) the last few pics are inspirations from pinterest Thanks for all inputs!
