So maybe your skin is a bit warmer than mine. The periwinkle isn't really my friend either, but I do have one top that is more like a dusty bluer version and I like it. On those swatches you posted, it would be more like the color just above the periwinkle color. Smittie: That periwinkle seems to gray my skintone. It's just awful. Tina: It's nice to meet someone with my eye color. It's not a common color, I don't think. Cat: I'll look for a soft brownish lippie to try, and see what everyone thinks of it. Lipstick seems to be the most inexpensive way to sort things out. I happen to have a Sci-Art Soft Autumn color fan (also one of their Soft Summer color fans), and all of the lippies I wear match the colors in the Soft Autumn color fan. Their version of Soft Autumn is a little cooler than other color systems, but each of their color palettes is distinct, which avoids confusion. It's not one of those things where "both a Soft Autumn and a Soft Summer can wear _______________." The colors do not overlap. I got my color fans from Indigo Tones, though the Soft Autumn color fan they're selling now doesn't have the pinks and reds that my color fan has. Either that, or those colors simply don't show up in the picture they post online. I have taken a picture of the color fan I have. It could be that you can wear both warm and cool dusty colours. I'm not sure. The periwinkle you mention might not be dusty enough, or it might be too much of a pastel, and you might need more mid-tones. Instead of the red T-shirt (which, in my humble opinion, "overpowers" your soft, warm look), I suggest a rust/cognac one. Your eyes are very beautiful - I bet you would look wonderful in teal. And how about trying a soft brown-ish lipstick? Is it a good color for me? Also, I'm adding sons pictures of my eyes and a picture of the top I wore to work today. I'm wearing makeup but no lipstick. I never know if I should go bright or soft (muted) with my lip color, so I rarely wear any.
