I think I prefer it without the belt, the shirt seems a little short to me for belting. It does look a little big, I would get another hole punched. I also don't think you need that pin on top, instead if you are uncomfortable I would do a cami underneath, maybe with a little lace? I do love the color, and think this will be a good basic to work into your wardrobe! Can definitely see with jeans and maybe a cute ballet flat or something. Another suggestion would be to try a statement necklace instead of scarf!

Gorgeous! We are style sisters. Only I haven't worn mine yet! I especially like it with the pink scarf, both pink and purple being great colors on you. It's great belted or unbelted. And it will look nice with jeans. Well done in choosing a versatile piece.

I think the belt does need another hole in it, looks too loose.

Purple is a really good color on you!
I like it with the pink scarf or the belt.

Lovely shirt, the color is great and both scarves work nicely with it. I find thin belts suck as these very tricky for me (also short waisted) to wear, they tend to cut me up instead of cinching and flattering.

Have you tried this belt with a skirt instead? I find I can work with thinner belts for pants and skirts and thicker one's for tops and tunics.

Hi firefly, I really like the belt as it is - and it's a gorgeous belt, so simple but not ordinary.
Personally, I don't think it needs to be tighter and I'm also wondering if you do make tighter, what kind of effect would it have on the blouse. The way it is perfectly ok.

Let's hope someone else chimes in, I'm also keen to know what (if anything) could be done differently with it.

Thanks so much, ladies! I'm still not terribly confident about my style choices and what my fashion persona is, so it's invaluable having your feedback.

Does anyone have any opinions about the belt? I've never been in the habit of belting, and have realised that I'm short-waisted, but I love this belt and would like to try and make it work. It's an inch wide and plain black leather, but I think the fact it wraps around twice makes it a bit different. It's on the tightest notch here, but should I look at making it tighter? Or would that lose the wrap-around-twice effect?

Gorgeous shirt, wear it and love it, you scored one of Hobbs' gems.
I love every way you styled it, with bold scarf colors and with the belt too. On it's own it is perfect as well, I can also see it working with jeans... pretty much it looks great worn whichever way you want.

What a beautiful colour! I love it with the pink, and the teal. I'll let others chime in on the belt. I like all of these and can see this being a great workhorse. You could wear a similar coloured cami underneath, or think about using clothing tape between the buttons over your chest, as I think it might be showing some of your bra in the first pic? It will be lovely as a layering piece under a tunic or vest, too. Well done!

I haven't posted any WIWs in ages. The fact is, money was very tight after Christmas so I hadn't bought any items of clothing since December. However the bills have finally loosened up a little, so recently I treated myself to a silk shirt from ebay - originally Hobbs. I've always steered clear of silk items, thinking it would be too much hassle caring for them, but I've decided I want to bring my style up a notch, so this is me dipping my toe in the water.

I haven't worn it out yet, but the first 3 photos are of how I would wear it to work. I often wear a scarf in the office, but always take it off when I go to a clinical area (I work in mental health). Pic 4 and 5 are with a Noa Noa belt I haven't worn yet either; it wraps twice around the body. I've wondered if the belt is a little loose and I should add another hole to tighten it up. I'm also unsure about the extent of unbuttoning of the shirt at the neck. I don't feel comfortable showing any cleavage, so pics 5 and 6 are with a pin added above the top button. 1 and 6 are without a belt and untucked, which is how I generally wear my tops.

I'm also wondering about wearing the shirt more casually, with a pair of jeans when I manage to find a pair that fits. Anyway, I'd welcome any and all feedback on my new items. Please fire away!

PS sorry for the size of the post!
