There is no industry-wide standard the way there is for, say, sleeping bags (which use the EN rating system to give you a consistent idea of how warm they are, and give different ratings for survival vs comfort). When a coat gives a temp rating, it's usually from the marketing department, not product testing. I go by fill weight in ounces to get an idea of how warm a coat will be. Patagonia lists theirs on the website, but most gear manufacturers should be able to give you an estimate if you contact their CS.</p> <p>Crazyone -- this is an XS. Some reviews made me think I'd need a S, but I went with my gut. Wow. What a great fit. Sleek and dressier looking than it could be because of that. Love the collar and colour. Personally, I find knee length puffers like this to be a huge boon. I thought they'd get in the way of active pursuits and it's true I prefer a shorter jacket for snowshoeing but I find my knee length one works well for walking, skating, and most other pursuits.
