Oh Kristen, I was going to say I liked the first dress too! But if the material didn't feel good to you then you made the right choice. Fabric is very important!!! The banded top is gorgeous so I'm glad youre keeping it. I think you're right about trading in the skirt for a smaller size - you're going to rock it!

Awwww, Angie and Bella, I wish I had seen your responses before I returned the first sheath! I don't know if it would have changed my mind, though, since the thing that pushed me to return was the cheap fabric; it was very heavy/stiff and too polyester-ish. That and the way it emphasized the widest part of my thigh and my hip, it just had to go back. But I will keep my eye out for something similar because I loved the shape of it.

Joy, you make a great point about being able to get away with smaller sizes in darker colors; it's something I've been noticing a lot. That said, the crease many of you noticed is extra fabric, not just from sitting. I think I need to go with my instinct to trade it in for a smaller size, which I strongly suspect will fit better in a week or two. Since it's on sale and going fast, I need to jump in and get it now before it's gone -- it already is from the website.

I already have 3 skirts I am hoping to be able to take in, and since this one has a thick lining, I think it would be too hard and too expensive to try.

Thank you all so much for your help!

And the frock obsession continues. And I’m with you.

LOVE the sheath. KEEP. The banded top is fab too. KEEP. Those are my fav’s. The second frock is sweet as well. Over to you.

I like the first dress best hands down. Please keep! Does it work with the new white jacket?
I also like the top.
I like the second dress, keep since you like it too much already.
I vote return on the third dress.

I also am digging the second dress! Wear with leggings if you feel it's too youthful on its one. Banded top -- very nice, and I like how you paired it with the white jacket and khaki skirt. I don't think the skirt is too small; there is that crease along the front, but I think you can get that just from walking around!

I don't think the skirt looks too big in the photos. It looks like it fits just right. It seems that one can get away with a smaller size in a dark fabric than in a lighter color, in general. The lighter color shows every bump and roll, if you know what I mean.
Maybe someone can tell us whether making a pencil skirt smaller is much of an alteration, if you chose to do so after weight loss. It doesn't seem like it would be very difficult or expensive as long as a lining isn't involved too.

I'm not sure about the skirt- it looks a perfect fit around the thighs at the side but then there are creases across the fabric at the front could be too big or is it the way you're standing? x

Oh, YAY, the second dress can be kept! I was really worried about that; I need a paler color palette once in a while. I'm keeping the banded top, too -- my purple and turquoise one from Nordie's is suddenly too big. Of course.

Joy, thanks for the tip about the buttons. The jacket does feel very white, but that could be because it's just so cool and dreary right now. Once it's full on summer, I think I will be happy to have it.

What do you guys think about the fit of the skirt? Can you tell if it's too big from the photos?

Kristen, I was going to the same as Joy. I don't think the second dress is too young looking. I love the colors and patterns too and I think you wear it really well. I hope you keep. Also love your khaki skirt and short sleeved white jacket! I cannot find a jacket like that in any of the stores this season.

The 2nd dress in the colors/pattern you love is identical in style to one I bought last year and one of the few things I can still wear after losing more weight because it's so forgiving. (I have to wear a cami under it now or put a hook and eye at the neckline but doubt you'll have that problem.) It makes an easy cool day dress, but I'm thinking of having it shortened to wear with leggings (my pattern is black and white floral).
I like the way you've styled the banded top with the khaki skirt and white jacket.
If you feel the jacket is too much white, you could do as Angie once suggested and change the buttons from white to black or tan. With the short sleeves I think you can get away with the white buttons though.
I don't have a strong opinion about the first and third dresses, but think you can do better especially if anything is bothering you about them. You only want things in your closet that make you feel fab, especially with your new figure.

Did some shopping at ATL and Kohls this week, but I'm not quite sure about some of what I bought so I need the YLF seal of approval. I'll include my thoughts on what should go back. Thanks!

The whole set is here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/k.....20/detail/

B&W sheath with purple flowers, Kohls: http://www.flickr.com/photos/k.....593096320/
I had this in a 12 and returned it because it was too big in the armholes and chest. But in a 10...I dunno. The flowers just seem really, really LARGE all of a sudden, and the length is worrisome. If I keep, I would wear to my niece's christening this weekend, but I don't know where else it would be appropriate, since it's a tad too short for work. Leaning toward Return.

Cotton sundress with elastic neck, Kohls:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/k.....593096320/
http://www.flickr.com/photos/k.....593096320/
I am crazy, CRAZY in love with the colors and patterns of this, and think it would be a darling summer top for going out to dinner or out for drinks with friends. But is it too young and/or too unflattering? I am never sure about the babydoll look of dresses like this. Really want to Keep, need to be slapped out of it. :)

Red dotted knit dress, Kohls:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/k.....593096320/
This looks better in the photo than it did on. The cut is just very ordinary, and I don't like the square neck. I will probably Return this unless it gets overwhelming positive reviews.

Brown/bronze and black patterned banded top, Kohls:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/k.....593096320/
There is something about this one that speaks to me. It's a little heavier fabric than I would like (had to get it in a small so it didn't overwhelm me) but I love the pattern and volume of it. Leaning toward Keep.

Here it is with the new ATL khaki skirt and white short-sleeve jacket:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/k.....593096320/
About that skirt -- does it look too big? I got an identical one in black one size smaller, which is snug but looks great. The khaki (which I love, it's a good neutral for summer for me with all my colored tops and my tan legs) was a little less forgiving in the 8, but the 10 spins around my hips. I'm afraid in 7 pounds it will be unwearable.
Also, what do you think about the jacket? I almost got the skirt in white, but the whole suit made me feel like an ice cream vendor. LOL!

Thanks -- I don't know why I am so indecisive lately. I think I'm having trouble putting outfits together right now, and I don't know if it's because I have some major gaps in my new wardrobe, or because the weather is so weird, or if I've been buying up a whole new closet of orphans. Hope it's not the last one!
