Yes, do keep! I don't think it looks matronly. I can't tell exactly where your knees are, but I think you have it at a length (that would be slightly above the kneecap) where you can wear it with skinnies, tights, hose, and leggings. Very versatile.

I love J Brand denim. The ones I have loosen up a bit with wear, but they don't bag out. Good stuff.

I think blue denim is more versatile than black, but others think otherwise (we had a thread about this awhile back). I guess it depends on how you style it!

thanks ladies for all the positive responses. I"ll definitely keep, although I need to hem the dress and take in the side seams along the hips a tad.
I"m also thinking of maybe trying to find some skinnies in blue denim rather than the black-- I think that blue would be more versatile with my existing wardrobe. And, wouldn't blue denim give a more casual vibe than the black?
Sihaya, it really doesn't have sleeves, it just has a little cap that extends a tad past my shoulders. I'll try it on again to double check the look there.
Alecia, I don't know why, but I'm always paranoid about things looking matronly. For some reason, dark solid colors leave me questioning that.

That dress is HOT. What makes you think it's matronly?

I think the dress would work with leggings as other have mentioned. It also looks short enough for the slouchy boot look. I'm not certain about this one, but maybe you could belt a boyfriend sweater over it, too.

Love the outfit! Definitely a good length there and not longer. Looks great with skinnies. Not matronly at all - and it looks comfortable!

Try it with boots/leggings! I could see cognac-coloured boots looking fantastic.

Queenie - great outfit. Of course you could also wear the dress with leggings. I can't tell exactly from the picture but the sleeves on the dress might not be great (see many of Angie's posts on sleeves). Other than that, it looks fabulous. And the sleeves many not matter anyhow because you have great arms and the overall dress is so good.

That happens to me all of the time Love the London Times dress. I don't think it's matronly at all. Love the neckline and the ruching in the front. That purple really suits you!

I was on my way to Trader Joes, when I got lost and ended up at TJ Maxx :-)
I picked up this pair of J Brand skinnies (anyone know if they'll bag out?) and then found this purple dress to wear over them. I have the hem of the dress folded up because it comes to my knees.

Opinions please. Is this dress matronly looking? Other suggestions for how to use it in outfits?

thanks so much!
