Shabby Apple make some lovely cotton flared wrap dresses if the vintage ones don't work out. It's a great style and so wearable in summer.

Tricia, I think you've found some eye catching dresses that look crisp and very importantly cool and fresh. As I'm in the middle of summer at the moment, that is a very big plus, trust me!

The only consideration I envisage is that you need to check they are hemmed just at that flattering point of your knee/leg so they don't make you look shorter.

Those are so cute, I just stink at wearing wrap dresses because I have a really small bust. I end up looking...not right.

I love wrap dresses....I think they are best dresses invented. I think the 1st and 3rd are adorable. I think the reason I like 3 so much is that the model looks so edgy so it isn't looking as girly. I think if you do something like that, number 4 will not look waitressy (Im not suggesting you get a tattoo!)

I absolutely adore dress #1 ... especially the shoulders. Not the lack of material we get today and not the poof I find often on vintage dresses.

I like the first 2 floral dresses; others have suggested that you not go too large in the floral pattern, but I'm also going to suggest that you keep it medium sized and not go too SMALL on the pattern or it might look too literal vintage. I think you'd look cute in a dress of this style!

I can see 1, 3, and 4 working really well for your style. I'm not a fan of the second because I suspect it might hide your waist?

I can see you in this style too and you'll look fantastic. I LOVE the first 2, the last one does make me think of Lucille Ball working in the candy factory, but I think if anyone can pull this off with great style, and take the waitress thought right out of mind, it is you.

Tricia, I have been perusing these as well, but in more of the DVF style - so 70s! Even though I am still SYC, I am hoping to thrift one (the consignment place just sent me another check - woohoo!). I can TOTALLY see you in one of these dresses, and you should pick up one to try out.

These dresses scream summer to me...and I think they're go perfectly with your newfound fashion persona. You looked great in the last pics you posted..and while my initial reaction to the last dress mirror'd your mother's, the more I look at it, the more I feel sure that you'll be able to add your own edge to it.

Love the first dress, but not the ones with big flowers (big prints are difficult to wear).
Sorry.. don't like much the last one.. it seems like a mu mu..
Love the first one!

I know, it's January. But my winter wardrobe is pretty much set and I'm starting to think about warm weather - almost all of what I wore last summer is huge on me now and I'm doing a huge purge.

I've fallen in love with flowered wrap dresses like these - sort of the Hawaiian/tiki style from the 50s and 60s. They seem like they'd be so easy and so cool in the heat and humidity. I could see wearing one with a light cardi for work, or alone with sandals on the weekend, or with a big floppy hat and big sunglasses for a summer day out. What do you think - do they fit into the fashion persona I'm developing? I find summer dressing much harder.

Oh, and a bonus - the last photo is a 1940s shirtdress I bought on Friday, also for the warm weather - it's on its way right now. My mother looked at the picture and said people were going to ask me to take their order, but I don't care. I think it's adorable.
