Sounds like you made a great choice, TL! A classic straight leg is a great place to start, and fit is everything. On the forum, many of us has noticed and appreciated the trend to slightly looser fits, so, even if they stretch a bit, you might find you like it.

Bringing new people in the world does change a woman's shape and require us to learn how to flatter our new bodies. I had my DS at 38 --- which is when I grew real breasts. And, despite breastfeeding for a year, they never went away. I still, years later, forget that I have them when I'm looking at clothing in magazines!

You look a well proportioned apple to me in your pic. I like the idea of jeans and flowy tops, perhaps with a modern jacket for a topper, as an "outfit formula" for you. You might look through some of the archives for some of Angie's outfit formulas.

So nice to meet you! This is a great place to learn and forge a new style!

Thanks everyone. I tried on at least 20 different pairs of jeans and it came down to NYDJ and Code Bleu Gwen slimming. I ended up with the Code Bleu because they had more of a demin feel.

http://www.dillards.com/produc....._502806674

I ended up with the size 8 short even though the size 6 short fit, they felt tighter around the thighs but I am hoping they don't stretch out a lot while wearing them because then they'll be too big.

I'll post a picture later today and maybe I can get some opinions.

Day one of no longer living in yoga pants lol

I am an apple and I adore H&M's "Slim Regular Waist" jeans. The rise is high and the fabric is stretchy and holds you in. The legs are slim enough to look good with longer tops, and to fit into boots, but not skinny so they look good with whatever. Plus they are $30-$40 depending on the style.

I have been wearing them for three years, just got a new pair, and I get lots of compliments on them.

I can't find the dark blue that I got in the store online, but this link will show you the cut:

I think Angie recently recommended Not Your Daughter's Jeans for an adorable apple. They also fit me, and I'm more pear shaped, so go figure! They are mid-rise or even higher so they have a girdling effect. The pair I just bought (under $25!!!) at Ross have faux front pockets so they make my stomach look especially flat. Never pay full price for NYDJ. You can find them at the Rack or on sale at Nordies or Macy's or (obviously) Ross. Hope Dillard's has them on sale. I haven't had huge stretching or bagging problems with NYDJ, but I don't like my jeans skin tight. I am a P2 or P4 in jeans, and with NYDJ I am a P0. The Ross pair are 0 and I'm having them hemmed.

As to cut of jeans: I would go with whatever you feel fits you and your footwear the best. Narrower bottoms can go with more lengths. Also, you may want to try both Petite and Regular sizes in everything to see which rises and lengths work best for you as your height suggests you may straddle both size groups.

Remember: Finding great jeans is like finding a great swim suit. Or kissing a lot of frogs to find a prince.

Thank you. This is all so new to me because before my last pregnancy and csection, I really was a jeans and tshirt kinda gal with no thought on belly pooches etc. I also find that now that I'm losing a little more weight my new incredible breasts from my pregnancies are sagging and deflating lol.

Those leggings are actually something I'd never wear out, they're shiny, I think back in my running days, I got them from a running store. But you're right I noticed how they cut me off in the pictures.

I used to only wear big heels, now I have plantar fasciitis in my right foot, so I've been in flats. I'll have to google the type of heel you're referring to because I have a pair of flats with a small heel and a pair of riding boots that I'm hoping to use with the leggings but I'd like to find a wedge or something.

Quick questions, best pair of jeans for my shape... a pair of leggings or slim so I can wear flowy tops or a pair of bootcut with the same flowy tops and a few others. I can only afford one really good pair right now at $100.

I'm thinking long torso, square, apple tendencies. You'd look super cute in a fit and flare dress or like skirt. Re. leggins/skinnies, I think the ones in the pic are ever so slightly short, they're ending at the wider part of your calf, which is a bit stumpifying. Also feel tops that really fit at the shoulders will be *important.* And little ballet flats won't be helpful, even though your look is so young and fresh. Something with some substantial heel - not necessarily height-wise. But short block heels, for example.

Lol. I got *opinions.*

Sorry I was typing while waiting for my son at preschool and my phone died. Is there a page or can anyone give me any recommendations on what to look for in a jean that flatters an apple shape?

Hi I am new here and to be honest, I have no clue about fashion, what looks good on my body etc. Before I had my last baby, I always had the ability to wear bootcut jean, throw on a top and be set. Now after my third c-section, I have this pooch under my belly button. I live in control underwear etc.

My measurements are:

36b or c
29.5-30
39-40

I'm 5'3. Here is a picture without any shapewear and one with. I am in leggings and a tank.

http://i53.photobucket.com/alb.....095314.jpg

http://i53.photobucket.com/alb.....095555.jpg

I plan on going to Dillards tonight to try on some NYDJ because I need something to stuff my stomach into. It looks like that I should wear an 8 in their jeans and I've read all the posts on here about them stretching so I'm hoping that trying them on will help me figure out the sizing.

I really just need to figure out what shape I am and start there. I tend to wear flowy shirts or cardigans but my issue is that I feel like leggings or skinny jeans make my legs look like tree trunks.

I'm just really fashion lost.
