I do need to get a few more good bras and im looking to forward to spring/summer so I can stock up on wedges. I currently work full time so I will try to look for clothing that has Ponte knit. Thanks for the suggestions!

Moonies, welcome!

My daughter is 15 months now, so I understand where you are coming from. I don't know what your climate is, so these will change based on that. Also, I don't know if you are working or a SAHM, and if you are working, how formal your office is.

The biggest thing I learned is dress the body you have now and don't wait for it to x or y. Sounds like you are already there! Angie has some fantastic posts on capsules. I really recommend those as they will help a smaller number of things go a long way.

I know how tight the budget can be post baby, so a couple of things I can suggest: check thrift stores. The ones by me regularly get donations from merchants- so clothes that are still tagged, you can also find lots of mall brands there.

Wait for a Gap sale. They regularly run 35% off sales. Great to get some comfortable and flattering tees.

A great pair of jeans. Save in other areas so you can afford these.

Ponte knit is your bet friend. Looks polished and work appropriate, the fabric is forgiving and machine washable! Great when sticky baby hands get you (from experience here)

Skirts if you can do them. Far, far more forgiving of a changing body than pants.

Welcome! One thing i would say in addn is to maybe pick 2 or 3 fav colors and work your clothes & accesories around them for now. It will give you more mix and match options which is nice so you dont feel like u have to wear the same thing everyday even if you only have a few clothes that fit at the moment.

Congratulations! Are you wanting to change your look or modify it for your post-pregnancy body? If you were wearing 3+ inch heels, skinny jeans and a spaghetti strap top before...how about cute ballet flats, fitted jeans and a sweater? Or if it's cold where you are, boots instead of the flats?

Congratulations and welcome! You have already received some great advice. Definitely get some comfortable shoes, a good bra, some great jeans and read Angie's Mom On The Go blog posts.

Moonie, I would spend some money on a really good supportive bra, and on a great pair of jeans that beautifully fit the body you have now. Both will make a huge difference in how you feel.

For footwear, with summer coming there are a lot of stylish and comfy options. There are ballet flats, oxfords, sandals... Pick a pair that is truly comfy, has a bit of structure and traction, and makes you feel fab!

With the foundation of bra, jeans, and shoes, you will be ready to hit the thrift stores and the sales and anywhere else you want to shop, adding the distinctive touches that express your style!

Welcome to the forum, and congrats on the little girl!

I lived in a lot of thrifted finds at that stage while I learned what worked best for my new body and new lifestyle. I didn't want to spend much on clothes I wouldn't wear for long. I'm sure cute and fun is still do-able for you!

It's been 6 months since my beautiful girl was born and now that the crazy hecticness of being a new mom has subsided (well sort of lol) I am now focusing some of my attention back on me. I'm 29 so I fall into the late 20s-early 30s age range. Prior to being pregnant I dressed in whatever looked cute and fun. I enjoyed buying 3+ inch heels and pairing it with a pair of skinny jeans and a spaghetti strap top. I was also super petite and wearing a size 1 was a little too big. That has all changed now. While I still consider myself petite I now have boobs, hips, and butt thats not going away. My stomach pouch while im working hard to lose it doesn't look its going to back to its pre preggo size anytime soon. So now my closet is filled with primarily my pre pregnant clothes that either look awkward, are too small, or just very impractical (not carrying a baby in a car seat with 4 in platforms). How can I redo my wardrobe slowly and steadily without completely breaking the bank and that has bit of the old me but yet is practical for me being a new mom?
