They actually look elegant but comfortable. The trousers and top work really well together with the mules. The split hem pants are great.</p> <p>I looked at some similar loafer-mules but would need the metal to be silver-toned, and it seems like all the ones on offer are gold. But the patent Aerosoles I ordered in a half size down have arrived, and they may work for me — perhaps better than the Freda Salvador slingback loafers. I have to do a good try-on session to be sure. I know I'm no high-end chic fashionista, but the one thing I don't like is looking and dressing the same as everyone else. And nor do I think I know more than anyone else either - it's just the way it is.  I have 2 pair of lug soled boots, and a pair of patent lug soled oxfords, all bought a few years ago, and as soon as I saw them on other women at work last winter I  was done, lol.  That said, I did want to get in on the chunky chain trim look, plus I LOVE mules, and these were half price - so , I bought them. I love them.</p> <p>Can't see much of my outfit here, but these are a jersey legging pant, that I have folded over twice at my waist to hike up the length, lol.  I don't go for crotch exposure in this type of pant, so need to wear something longer, hence this super-useful but highly non-cool jersey top from Lisette L (Canadian company that makes all the things many women hate here:  polyester work wear.  I don't care about poly - environmentally unfriendly or not, it does the trick for active work wear).
