That looks like a good little basic dress that can be accessorized for whatever the occasion requires. I'm not a big dress gal, but I do have a couple fall-back dresses. No LBD, though My equivalent is an eggplant colored sheath that hits just below my knee.

always trying, great purchase. Yay to it fitting very well! I own one solid colored dress. It's a teal wrap dress and not very practical for the Florida heat. The rest are prints, and none are black. I was on a no black kick for a while. I could definitely use a reliable solid colored dress in my wardrobe for Spring and Summer.

Carter, what an attractive couple you and your husband make.

That looks like a very versatile dress! Many of my work dresses can either be dressed up or down. I do have a LBD that I've had for a very long time. It's purely dress up though, because it has a deep V in the back. I also have a couple "cleavage dresses" that I wear for dress up date nights. Needless to say, my husband loves them, but I would never wear them out with clients--his or mine:-)

That looks like a great versatile dress!

A sleeved LBD for casual wear is my HEWI. I had one that served me well for several years from Ella Moss, and when I lost weight, it no longer looked fab on me, so I passed it along to my niece. That was over a year and a half ago, and I've been looking ever since.

I did find a great summer casual LBD last year at Anthropologie and wore it enough that I duplicated it in navy blue:

http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....-i-did-buy

I'm sure ill wear it a ton this summer as well.

Oh, the dress is a little longer on me -I am 5 ft. 3 and the dress in regular size, not petite, so is knee length.

Just bought this dress as I needed a little black dress. Have been building my dress-up capsule for warmer weather. Finally had the winter one done right-carried me from fall thru holiday season, and up to spring. Bought a long sleeved purple dress that I thought would be my "little black dress" to dress up or down -but it has long sleeves, so thought I would try to find something as a base for the rest of the year. This dress was at Stein Mart for $39.99. It is a good fabric for the price, and fits so well.

With so much discussion about dresses, and the photos I am happy to see, and wondering do you have a little black dress, or something you can rely on to dress up or down, to fit the "when I don't know what to wear" problem arises?
